After readnig all the crappy reviews of this manga, I decided to give it a try to see just HOW bad it could get.....
It wasn't all that crappy as people make it out to be, y'know? The main char. was way too OP, that part remains true, and it's totally unrealistic--especially from a programmer's point of view.... but i thought the ideas that the author came up with was interesting to an extant, and kept me happy for a short while...
The sister of the main char is indeed frustratingly helpless, and many pointless betrayals occur--but in a way the betrayals all make sense IF and only if the girl from the newspaper club is the main antagonist boss. Because, that way, the other betrayals would have been logically staged seeing the location of the main boss.
As for the sister.... Let's just say she is inherently naiive and idiotic and pure.....BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE WHY WOULD YOU GET KIDNAPPED SO GOD DAMNED MANY TIMES?? It's ridiculous... If i were the main character I would've realized that other plans were needed to keep her safe.
Also, having all the smartest and toughest guys be highschoolers is a bit of an overkill.

Everytime I decide to finish this manga, I go through about 5 chapters before facepalming and wanting to smash something because of how retarded this manga is. There are just so many flaws with how things happen that it makes you literally go wtf? These guys have had atleast 4 chances to kill or injure (im up to chapter 39) the masterminds/villains of the manga. In all seriousness, its fucking retarded that they try to capture these terrorists without harming them. what the fuck? Why not just shoot them in the arms or legs to disable their movements instead of pointing the gun and allowing them to finish their sentence of "I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING" and even then they dont shoot but act surprised and allow them to escape, the fuck? what type of terrible fucking "trained" people are this fucking bad at their job? the mangaka is obviously way too fucking naive and its blatantly clear in this manga.
8 chapters...

Super addicting. Very suspenseful and pretty nerve-racking. I will just leave it at that for now. Just my opinion but if you are reading these comments to see if you want to start this series, just read the first few chapters and decide for yourself.

Well, the plot is rather interesting, but it fails in so many ways.
First of all, why the fuck does he share everything with his friends(heck i wouldnt want my friends to get involved with something like that) He's too goodie goodie. Naive little boy. And I would have atleast checked outside the freaking door before leaking classified information so random ppl that passes by might hear (like the terrorist teacher!)
Well 5/10 so far

I'm also a programmer at first and a white-hat with nearly 10 years working and learning in security field. And so the infamos top hacker main character introduce himself with godlike hacking skill by sending a ... Trojan. Hello there! I need something more amazing not a sptupid kid game in a serious theme

What started out as a pretty decent story just ended up becoming too rushed and thrown together as it went on. Even though the "hacking" was always obviously fake, it just got to a point it was ridiculous what he did when he was "hacking", not being able to shut down a computer because you enabled a backup power supply? lol
At least one person commented about how the story picked up during the last 1/4th of it, I feel it was more rushed and crammed together to just finish the story with at least some sort of closure on every issue.

Bloody Monday begins and it's 'good'. It's not bad. It's worth reading, but it isn't awesome.
But then, THEN it picks up momentum. And right now (volume 9) it's so ridiculously good, you can't pass on this.
There's plenty of action and suspense, and you actually come to care about some of the characters (Fujimaru though? Not so much. He's a bit carefree, doesn't have much of a deep past.) including the antagonists. In general, it isn't just a mindless read, there are many elements that are thought-provoking, you wonder 'how' or 'why' or 'what'. And it isn't an emotionless read either, there's certainly the emotional element (but that doesn't mean we're talking about the weak emotions - it's not some sappy romantic shoujo). It should be mentioned that at the beginning there seemed to be *some* romantic potential, and it's a little misleading, since the plot goes nowhere near it from then on. It should also be mentioned, while we're on the topic, that this manga is full of fine ass.
This manga has excellent art and story and... framing, I suppose you could put it. It's not just that the artist draws well. It's what he draws, the perspectives, the expressions, the tone and mood, and the settings. They're just spot-on.
At times, all the technobabble feels like a bit of a gimmick. And I suppose it is; the protagonist has to be good at something. And the plot is rather technology-centric as it's set in the modern day[?]. Another 'gimmick' the manga has is the 'psychological explanation' element, the manipulation of people based on their tendencies and such, but then that's always interesting to me and it doesn't feel as much like a gimmick.
Also, the protagonist *is* rather a moron, but he has his moments. There was one point in the story where I absolutely hated his guts because he was just that pathetic. He's since redeemed himself in my eyes.
But you'll just have to read it to believe it.

drama vs manga

I watched the drama first. Then I read the manga.
First of all, I must say that I love this manga a whole lot. It has pretty nice twists and turns. Also I like the art work. Well, actually, I have a soft spot for badasses such as hackers or assassins, so I naturally like this story.
Comparing the drama and the manga... Manga is much better in my opinion. The character of Fujimaru in the manga is fairly different from the one in the drama. I like the the Fujimaru in the manga a lot more. I'm not saying that the actor in the drama didn't play out Fujimaru well. He did fine. It's just that he portrayed the character in a different light...more like a coward? and his expressions are kind of repetitive. (Miura, the actor, is pretty cute)
Anyway, if you are deciding between the drama and the manga. Manga is much better.
Enjoy!

I just caught up after not reading it for so long (reading 40 chapters in 2 days). The plot will get more and more complicated as it goes. I'm not going to say a whole lot because i don't want to give anything away, but man... i'm impressed. this is one of those mangas that turn your point of view around again and again. bad guys are not really bad and good guys are not really good. the situation is not really the real thing. and the problem just got bigger and bigger as each chapter passes. Of course, the main character develops very well.
all in all, i still love.

I wasn't the type of reader who was interested in robot gadgets, especially those computer hackers. But this one was different; the story, though it revolves around how good he is as a hacker, doesn't focus only on this fact.
I think the "hawk eyes" was a very odd element to add to this artwork though. It has no function other than to make the protagonist look "cool". I mean, was this really necessary? Unless he's flying above oceans trying to catch his prey, I don't think this is a necessary element.
