I liked it. I haven't read many gender benders before but it is handled very well in this manga, I really enjoyed it. There was a part that got boring (the track meet "arc"), but it only lasted 2-3 volumes, so it was fine. The art was a little bothersome at first but I got used to it and it was very good in the end. I'm not going to say that it dragged on (it didn't! it was very enjoyable) but there isn't that much of a plot or conflict or drama. It's worth reading, but if you're looking for something with a lot of drama, then this probably isn't it. I'm not really adding much but her job in the end was a bit lame. .___. Also, I feel like we never learn enough about Sano's high jump and how he does in the future and the story just didn't have enough of it, even though I said it was boring. Yeeeah. It was cute though, and I would recommend it. The ending was decent. It wasn't bad and it leaves you feeling complete, but it lacked a bit of pizzaz.

One of my favorite manga series Although the romance and the story can be a little slow its definitely worth it. The development between the characters is also nice and not too rushed. Even though this manga is pretty long the comedy and romance moments make it understandable. The romantic moments are cute and heart warming. The art is also very cute and well in my opinion A LOT better than many mangas I have read out there. It's a must read!

Pretty solid all the way through, and while I find the beginning kind of.. iffy in the "stalkers are bad" kind of way, once the plot starts it keeps on course. While I don't like how the story started and the reasons, I enjoy what follows in that it stays true to what it started. I can't say that for most manga I have read recently.

Pretty good story, art is good throughout, and while the sports drama is unncessary, the family stories make up for it pretty well. Good read, recommended.

Pro: Bishounen. There is a ton of eyecandy here. Pretty much the only reason to read any of this.
Con: Some of the side stories were more interesting than the main plot. Like many of the other reviewers, the story drags. I think this would worked better as a 10 volume series rather than 23. After a while, it's sort of ridiculous that Mizuki isn't discovered. She is pretty much an idiot.

I simply loved this story. At the end I found myself not wanting it to end. It really is one of the best manga's I know. Mizuki is cool, she doesnt cry or whine and isnt overly dependend on the male characters in the serie. I liked Sano too, those two were really hilarious together. I laughed a lot reading this, the plot is perfect, there is lots of humor(ofcourse) and the characterdesigns rock. The art is unique too. It really was an awesome story. I wanna read it for the first time again XD

It seemed to me that 23 volumes for a romance manga is a bit much. Anyways, to me the ending was crammed into vol 23. Besides that, it was a great manga. i also saw the HanaKimi Special...it kinda confused me because Sekime described his bride as having a big stomach (because of the baby) but on the next page the bride looked as skinny as a pole,and well thats all i gotta say.

Great Read, please read, i at first put if off cause of genderbender (not my fav genre) but it was GREAT

this manga kinda reminded me of POWER. it was really good (well duh, its so good it got made into a drama that is a hit too) i recommend it to everyone! a MUST-READ. infact i am going to read it again for the second time =P. i am watching the drama japanese version of hana kimi and i also recommend it! its really funny! anyway to top it off this manga really deserves a 10/10. art is also really well done =P. der so hawt

Read this a while back and still remember how enjoyable and fun the story was. Highly recommended for shoujo fans looking for comedy, drama and romance in one story.

in reponse to anonymous: there IS an epilogue for hanakimi... it was published in the december 2004 issue of hana to yume after the release of volume 23. it's already been scanlated, should be called 'hanakimi ending special' or 'hanakimi yomikiri' (22 pages long)

and if you don't know the what he whispered, you've only read the short version of the ending, which was printed in hanayume... the real and extend version, printed in volume 23, is 13 pages longer than the original version.

look for these two chapters, it'll answer some of your questions ^_^
