I have to give a sincere thank to wingtip staff for this rightly chosen and nicely done manga. It's truly a worth reading josei.
This is a very sensible manga. Firstly, the theme revolves on culinary, and it's serious about it. I've read some manga labelled as haute cuisine but in fact the romance and other niggling stuff covers 80%. Oishii kankei, supporting by its gorgeous retro art with mouth-watering cuisine pictures, provides a very interesting and insightful view of the culinary world.
Secondly, the characters are very well-built. Each has his or her idiosyncrasy, and their stories and doing are realistic. We can feel the character's determination, thoughts, ponder, emotion, sympathy, and mostly their professional improvement. Sensei has developed a very intricate plot, and all the characters' relationships blend together. The romances are limited but very serious and realistic; we don't get easy-come easy-go love like in idol dramas or many other shoujos. The main character has many supports - many of them from male friends - but only one love.
Thirdly, the plot is quite a smart one. The development of the characters is proper; there are the twist, moment of bitterness and also melting sweetness. I also find in this manga many touching and nice saying/philosophy behind a subtle, simple facade.
Fourthly, the art is so good. I'm totally into retro shoujo art like this. Depiction of delicious cuisine lives up to its name, really.
Overall, this one is highly recommended. Guess I'll try more works of Satoru-sensei.

Romance manga often suffers from having heroines that are either extreme damsels in distress or extreme martyrs. Momoe is neither, and she elevates the series by being a fairly realistic and likable girl. While Oishii Kankei is not romance heavy, there's still a lot of love and passion (though most of this is directed towards food). There are a few cliches (male romantic interest with a troubled past), but they don't feel forced or overdone. All in all, Oishii Kankei is definitely worth a look.
Unique plot

A nice, feel good, engaging, proper slice of life, interesting, unique and other adjectives, josei manga- how delightful. Honestly, the plot is a good one. About a girls career and the restaurant business. I tell you, it’s a refreshing difference. The art's good, the character development great, the romance appropriate for the tone of the manga. 9/10
