A+ Mystery

This isn't an action manga tbh! It's a mystery manga to its core tinged with angst ... err bathed in angst. The mangaka does a fantastic job of laying out pieces of the puzzle one by one. There's a lot of layers to the story. Plot twists get thrown at you very often. Characters don't end up being what you think they are. But the series manages to stay coherent until the end. Everything gets answered, which is a really rare occurrence in manga and makes the end satisfying enough. I definitely recommend Pandora Hearts - it's really hard to find anything that foreshadows and teases out the background story like this.

My only complaint is that the story gets weaker once all the big reveals are done, and the mangaka has to rely on action and emotional roller coasters to reach the end. Unsurprisingly, the way some characters change or act toward the end felt pretty melodramatic.

It's best read accompanied with music from the anime. smile

At first i was thrown off by the characters. They're all kids! (Oz is 15). I didn't know what to expect, you see. But I plow on seeing that the title should mean something.

Luckily, after a few chapters the plot revealed to be worthwhile. It's a great read. And the characters are nicely developed, with Oz being one of the most well-developed characters I've ever seen. His facial expressions are very well done!

Despite the fun and cute characters, the story is actually dark and emotional. I have to read and reread to be able to understand the story. There's a lot of mystery to unfold and feelings to sort out. But, that's why it's excellent! (>.< wink .

It's just.... THAT! This manga pulls me in, and I find myself constantly wondering what will happen next. Mysteries have always interested me, and this manga holds a mystery that I really wanted to know the answer to. I read, and read, and read, and even after the "mystery has been solved", it leaves me wondering what will happen next. Will the protagonist ever be the same, or return to his normal life?

Even though I have high opinion on this manga, There are parts that I just couldn't handle. What I mean is there were certain scenes that were quite gory. Im still mildly used to this. There were also some parts that I found hard to understand and had to reread some of it.

This is a masterpiece. Not because the art is pretty, or because of the characters. Its the plot. the way the author keeps trolling us is amazing. You never expect such trolling. so entertaining. Definitely the best Alice in wonderland based manga out there. I hope the author does not drag much in the future, although i love it, it would be disappointing.

I started Pandora Heart by watching the anime. I was confused and couldn't grasp what was happening. However, as I start reading the manga, I've come to a better understanding. I really like how this manga is complicated and always keeps the readers in suspension. It is very unique without those heroes/superheroes thing. The 'past' is what keeps the story juicy. Leaking pieces of information at a time and then finally revealing the pieced puzzle definitely make this manga a must try.

I usually don't write manga reviews but i loved this manga, and i still do! I bought vol 1 and 2, it's the only one I actually bought. The story is very interesting , at some point I didn't get the story anymore so I kinda lost interest but when I got past that, the story started to make sense again XD And I got into it all over again, I'm always waiting for new releases, the art is amazing and the updates are always constant. Also all the characters are different and the relationships are too depending the character.

Very interesting smile ,theres comedy, romance, fantasy, drama, friendship, theres all; I recommend it ^^

So Good

When i first read the description of the manga, it already got me! (I thought at that moment, hurry open the 1st ch.).
Plus I could see good-drawing manga from the cover. I always picked manga before i read it by its cover....
First, I didn't get the idea... what's abyss? chains? (not enough explanation in first/second chapter).... But things started to be interesting as the story goes on. Surprise by surprise....
When I'm reading this manga, it seems like opening jack-in-the-box!
Each chapter progress, we can see the truth beyond each character in the manga.... Oh I like it. We can know what they are thinking, their point of view, their feeling, and their role to reveal of the mystery: what happened 100 years ago.
Till now I hardly guess what will happen to the next chapter....
Oh yeah, thx a lot for the scanlations group for the work! I love u!

Spoiler (highlight to view)
And about vincent, i always thought, he is psycho or cold blooded antagonist. But in the latest chapter, i developed symphathy for him...

i usually dont write reviews but this manga is so good that i felt i had to!
well at the start id thought i would probably give up on this manga like with most others , but surpisingly i read on and flew through it! what i really like about this manga is that it has a good plot and mystery without it being overcomplicated. unlike with some other manga(tsubasa chronicles for eg) where the story is overly complicated and you have to read each page with attentivness, in pandora hearts it gives the good plot without overloading your brain trying to figure out whats going on. and i think its pretty obvious that the amazing art is another plus, its also updated regulary which is what i love about it too. strongly recommend this to all readers(even the shoujo manga readers as im one myslef) i think this mange will be enjoyed by anyone if you give it a try! ^^

I first stumbled upon this series in the earlier chapters and have followed it through. I have to say it caught my attention in the first couple pages and has since had me hooked. I'm really a good guesser (I guess) and i can easily figure out how a story's plot will turn next, but i have to say that Pandora Hearts has made that a bit tough! (Though i have had my right moments xp ) And i really can't wait until it comes out in America this December! Although i hope it won't get too mainstream just yet smile

My favorite manga of all time

Pandora Hearts is IMO the greatest manga I’ve ever read. The first 3 volumes start off a bit slowly, but after volume 4, the series picks up and gets better and better as it goes on. The art also starts out good enough and also radically improves. The story was very good and heartbreaking (the ending made me pretty depressed), but it is very confusing on a first reading. The characters are also very solid. Overall, I love this manga, and I hope it gets a new anime one day that adapts the entire manga.

My personal recommendations for this manga are:
- D.Gray-man, which has a similar art style and tone. I read this alongside PH for sometime as well.
- Chrno Crusade also has a human making a contract with a supernatural being. It’s also very sad.
- Crimson-Shell and Vanitas no Shuki, which both share the same creator and have a lot in common with PH.
