Story get better& better (now i'm at chapter 27-->so cute~)
Intense story-line make me can't stop read it when i started and wait for new chapter every month.

This is my first yuri manga, it's also one of the best manga i've read, the story and characters, all are very good, but the most exceptional is the Art, you'll be fighting the cuteness XD

Girl Friends was a surprise.
When I started reading it I expected to like it, however I did not expect to read it as quickly as I did; and I certainly did not expect to be waiting so eagerly for the next chapter.
Girl Friends isn't a common yuri manga.
It's story is very realistic and the feelings of the characters develop slowly and step by step, not rushing events and confrontations. I feel that it shows the way the feelings of the protagonists grow and also the way they struggle against this not socially accepted love .
A great manga, up until now, that strongly recommend! ^.^

I like it way different then I thought it would be but it's a good read. I was like what the hell i'll read the first chapter see if i like it or not two hours later i'm waiting for the next chapter 22 to come out, im not much of a yuri fan and i'm a guy but after this and one other manga that i can't remember right now defitinely got me into yuri. I'm a sucker for romantic things weird i know but what the hell.

I started reading this last night a about 2:30am, read through all 20 chapters and didnt sleep a wink, real page turner, cant wait till the new release!!!!!!!!!!!1!!! if you havent already, START READING! i dont know why im this much into it, i cant explain it, the story is just so captivating, amazing read

Not being a huge Yuri fan, I decided to give this a try with a recommendation, and now I am quite glad I did. Its rare to find a yuri or even a shoujo-ai with this type of realism to it, which on the plus side dosent make it seem overly melodramatic. It was quite interesting reading about the blooming feelings the best friends have for each other and the struggles they go through in order to hide it.

Well this is a Yuri manga, and supposedly its intended towards a male audience. Most guys who read yuri like the thought of all-girl, and the popular titles like Strawberry Panic have a very fantasy-like aspect. This manga is more realistic and doesn't bring that all-girl fantasy feeling to the average Yuri fan. What I mean by that, and here's a little spoiler, is that the characters are not all cute and innocent, and besides the two main females, everyone else is basically straight and there are a lot of guys brought up in this series. This creates some good conflict (I guess), as it deals with two girls developing mixed feelings and trying find their identity with the norms of society burdening them. But for me its a bit too realistic and isn't nearly as fun to read as "Iono the Fanatics", "Strawberry Panic", "Pure Marionation", or "Strawberry Shake Sweet". However I'm still keeping up with the releases because I'm curious to see how it ends.

So far it's been a great story! But I pray it doesn't pull a "Haru yo Koi" and turn to complete garbage (I despise Haru yo Koi)!

It's cute, it has a little fanservice, it's really worth reading!

Cute & heart wrenching.
More realistic than one would have expected.

Only thing I hate about it is the one month wait between each chapter.

Morinaga strikes again, with her dangerously cute characters and yuri/self-discovery dramatics. This is a great story with well-developed characters and a simple, yet addictive drama-filled plot. Morinaga does an excellent job portraying both sides of a blooming relationship between two girls -- best friends -- one of whom realizes her feelings for her best friend may be more than just those of a friend, and the other who is completely oblivious, and later, unsure how to cope with the sudden realization of her friend's feelings toward her. The story is told via narrative from both sides, which does a superb job of conveying both girls' feelings, expectations and fears.

I like this enough that I really can't find anything to criticize -- it's a cute story well worth your time.
