I don't usually make comments...but this manga made me so interested in it that I read it nonstop in one night catching up to the current releases.
It's just that great.
The story and plot is amazing and unique, I've always had a thing for historical manga.
The art is simple but it fits perfectly, nothing is over-dramatized, it's simple and brings out the significance of the story and characters this way.
For anyone who's not really into seinen manga, this is one that you should read to get started because it is definitely one of the better manga out there.
Anyways, it's a good manga.

Incredibly well done story

This is an incredibly well done story. The plot moves along smoothly, never taking too long at one spot and never breezing through any parts either. The main character is extremely attention-capturing. He has qualities that anyone would want in a main character. I especially like the drama. It suits my liking. It's not overdone, but it's well presented and leaves a good, light lingering feeling. The plot itself seems very natural and flows well.

I just love this series :]

I find it ridiculous anyone could give this a vote of one. Completely ridiculous, that person is either retarded or just read one chapters and labeled it whatever he liked. This series is simply riveting, the story flows so well. One of the few manga that can pull flashbacks well. And the quality that Hox is releasing is pretty dam good actually.

The manga is one of the best currently being released and it's quite surprising that it's not more popular. The art's nothing special (don't skip this manga just because of that) but it brought back some fond memories of reading Kiseijuu and portrays whatever it needs to very well. Regardless it has definitely improved and some scenes are extremely detailed (The scenes with the Macedonian army are amazing). As for the story, it's one of the most involving I've read. I finished the all of the chapters released in one night and was left craving more. It's really interesting if you're into Greek history and it just gets more so because of Iwaaki's storytelling. Please don't pass this one up, it's one of those manga that you could keep on reading all day if only there was enough of it released to last that long. Also, you should read Iwaaki's manga Kiseijuu if you enjoyed this manga and are waiting for more. It's an entirely different setting but it is still very good. It certainly shows some promise of living up to Kiseijuu. I love this manga.

Of course kotonoha have put it onto hiatus, because the mangaka himself has. Not really much they can do about that.

Anyway great series, full of intrigue and wonderful story telling. Don't miss this.

from the art i recognised the mangaka of kiseiju- never been a fan of history as i prefer fiction but as they say facts are stranger and hence more interesting than fiction...besides, the mangaka is a thinker which makes his work a better read than many other works..one thing i like is that he has a habit of making inquisitive characters, those that are a bit emotionless, very intelligent, fascinated by knowledge and even though they dont shirk from gore or violence, arent totally devoid of conscience or morality..it was the parasite in kiseiju and in this one, its the main guy...this is what draws me to the mangaka's works..however, its an EXTREME PITY that kotonoha has put this into temporary hiatus..

well, this manga might not appeal to a wide variety of people....but for those of you who are fans of, good story telling, originality, character devolopment, and overall realism then you'll enjoy this.....

it doesn't revolve around fighting, or humor, or even drama really.....all though it has it all, hard to explain but basically....it's just very good story telling about the life and trials of the main character...which both the way, is a very intelligent and strong character that you don't see all that often

overally so far, so very good

Not the boring manga I expected it to be. Very dramatic, and interesting to read. Also some romance involved, which isn't included in the genres.

My biggest grudge with it is the fact that there hasn't been a translated chapter since this spring. So I'm pretty sure this manga is currently not active, and only goes up to Volume 3 (chapter 38). Hopefully this'll change someday, very curious to see Eumenes in his hometown now that the flashback is over.

By far one of the best mangas I've read. I can't remember the last time I thought "Jeez, I hope I don't run out of the issued chapters too quickly" while reading a manga.
Ugh, the only problem is that I can't wait for a new chapter.......

ya it was good. not quite as good as berserk tho. ;)

seriously i group history fantasy and sci-fi as the same tho. whats wrong with comparing 2 good manga. there's clearly gonna be differences, but similarities are way more significant since they're fewer.
