It's ok.

Beginning is good. But toward the middle, I find myself getting a bit bored......

We start off with the chapter where we are suddenly thrust into action without knowing really about the main character. But as we follow them on their journey, we get to find out who they are. I'm not used to reading mangas where they suddenly start without any character introduction, but I guess it works well here.

Now....I'm finding myself bored. I know the author wants to reveal more stuff about his past, but I find myself wanting this manga to end already.

I really liked the art, and you can really notice how the author changes the art during the series. But the plot is so so, and it gets boring half way through.
I don't recommend to follow the series till the end, as I didn't do so myself, but reading one or two volumes isn't all that boring.

This is a pretty standard shounen series. The art and the story are promising, but there's nothing that really makes it an amazing series. It's like a poor man's version of Rurouni Kenshin with a cliche story and minimal character development.

The main problem dragging it down is the terrible storytelling. There's no introduction or background for a few volumes, so you're just watching a stranger beat up enemies without a real sense of understanding or attachment. The only appeal is the mystery of the main character and that quickly disappears, once his boring past is revealed, and he becomes the cliche hero, rescuing anyone he comes across just because he's born nice.

The characters are also too static. The main character develops in power but not in maturity. There're no hard decisions and all problems are solved with power-ups. There's a ton of minor characters and none of them have any noticeable development or backgrounds. The story eventually becomes an endless parade of fights with just enough development to make it all coherent.

Overall, there's way too many fights and too little character development that you always feel like you're watching strangers without understanding of them. If you're looking for a strong main character and endless fights with death-beams thrown everywhere, this is the series for you. If you're looking for something that tries to go above the other shounen series, you'll want to try something else.

What can I say... I'd actually seen this one around a few times, but being me... I completely judged it by the cover. I was thinking: "Wow, doesn't really look that great." I didn't bother reading the comments either.

So, just last week, I came back and read the comments. Decided to give it a try. The art's beautiful! I was totally surprised, and hooked btw. The storyline is interesting, it's definitely original.

Totally recommend this.

This must be one of the better fantasy to come out this decade and still ongoing.

I don't like the art though. It reads like yaoi and I don't like that in my story when I'm not masturbating. The character design just doesn't suit my taste for this lovely fantasy story.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I love the story, the character, the comedy and everything, some ppl complain about Id being too powerful, we just feel that way cause every enemies he fought so far are nothing but small fry and mid-boss type level character, during volume 9 we actually get to see id struggling against an opponent because of certain weakness. I think id strength are just about right, hes probably at the level of a high level boss in a rpg which makes it very interesting when he finally fight against an opponent of that same level. I for one getting sick and tired of seeing a main character weak as a chimp and then for some miraculous reason beat an opponent thats 3 times more powerful than him.
But the storyline kind of been dragging for awhile now after volume 13, I am up to volume 22 raw now and I am still so anxious to see him getting reunited with his friends, especially Irlina gonna be so funny.

yea, the greatest fusion fantasy alright...it's so great a fusion of many other manga and even games that i'm surprised no one has noticed to now...to name a few..

rebirth
king of hell
chronicles of the cursed sword
ubel blatt
rurouni kenshin (oro? seriously?)
immortal regis
angel sanctuary
bastard

world of warcrafts
lineage
ragnarok online

despite the sorry amount of originality in this manga, i find that the mangaka was able to "fuse" all those elements from different manga/games together into a decent, if not cliche, storyline...if you're planning to pick up this series, don't expect anything new or unusual (except maybe the whole dimensional warp thing)

totally opposite of most every jap shounen where the main char are weak ass, hot headed, idiot, need undergone billions training sessions, and also ugly ass hell.

the thing that sometime kinda out of place is the comedy, it feel kinda forced, it would be better with less comedy and more serious plot.

the plot kinda slow but it build up some twists later on.

Veritas, breaker, gantz, berserk level of art. Nuff said.

Story is awesome, deep, and a crap load of foreshadowing. The main character's overpoweredness is okay enough, there are challenges and things later on, but the power ups continue to happen. If it's not your cup of tea, don't try it, but I have to say that it is all very well done.

Lots, and lots of volumes to scan... why is it not being lisceneced in english?

The first volume is amazingly confusing, but you pick up on things by volume 2.
