Dropped It

For me, Aizen's story arc was the best, but after Aizen's defeat, the story is not interesting for me again (especially fake karakura arc, i hate it). After knowing that Ichigo has hollow's power, now he got QUINCY'S POWER?? and usually Bleach's story goes like this: some battles then training period, new enemies&acquired new power, then training again...

It started out so well...

It's a shame. It started out really interesting. Both the plot and characters were well set up. Everyone could find a fave character out of all the shinigami and Ichigo's group and I found Aizen & co very interesting bad guys.

But then it went down hill. The fake Karakura arc started it. Imo, Kubo should have ended the series and all the plot-holes right there and keep Aizen as the final boss. But no... I honestly dropped the series very shortly after Aizen was defeated. A good mangaka should know when to end his/her series...

Not as good as its rating

I don't understand how this manga remains in the top 10 list. In terms of plot, there isn't any. It's just one story jumping into another completely different story, with a new villain everytime. This manga was good until the Fake Karakura Town arc, then it just went downhill. I dropped this shortly after.

I really like Bleach until the fake Karakura battle, where it drown and never make the surface again. But i still reading it because I want some answer and see how it will end, but it is and ok reading I read in 10 mins each week.

Aizen was the most interesting character but he fell flaw and boring, the fullbringer arc was ininteresting and the last arc is SO disapointing...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Plot holes, bad/short fight, characters who should die but don't (Byakuya and Kenpachi), character who shouldn't die (Unohana) at least not like she does and inconsistency.

Why is it still this popular?

I stumbled upon the anime many moons ago when it was new and i was an older teen. I liked it just fine but switched to the manga later to save time as episodes became too drawn out even without the filler.
I then quit the manga just before Vol. 50 entirely and started to hate it now. I am currently 24 and still deem the first two arcs (till Soul Society ended) as decent in retrospect but the word "empty" describes them best. Good art (but never backgrounds), fine choreography and decent ideas were commence but any from of substance was lacking.
To quote user strixflash "Bleach was never a plot driven manga" and that was true even then but the narrative utterly stopped when arc 3 began and the unending action scenes turned into the following: Two "awesome" underwear models with mullets of power meet, begin to stand in the air and beat each other up with super moves for no reason till someone wins or they agree to become friends. Noone ever dies but the word death / i´ll kill you are the most dominant sentences in the entire manga. The female characters are big breasted moral support only too but i will note that their sexualisation isn´t as dumb as in most such series. I thus quit the manga after that arc was finally over and never looked back. The series apparently still sucks (500+ chapters and a dead spin-off are the stats now) and it finally started to loose both fans and an anime (!) but i am out for good. As many problems i have with One Piece and Naruto now i still have fun with them so go for the rest of the Jump trinity instead.
Claymore (8,5/10), Hunter x Hunter (9/10) or Rurouni Kenshin (10/10) are lastly how modern shounen battle manga need to look like. Don´t even get me started how much better the action (or everything else) is in the adult targeted Berserk, Kamui Gaiden or Until Death Do Us Part is but these were done by masters. The only thing of note about Kubo Tite is his glamorous hair and that he created the memetastic Aizen while the "prequel" Zombie Powder is even less interesting than Bleach. I wonder if he will even start a third series as the final arc of Bleach was apparently changed back to not being a finale... Money never sleeps. Even among the dead!

I absolutely LOVE Bleach!!!!! It was the first manga that I ever bought and I love it! Each character has their own personality and there's always some problem the protagonists have to get through. Ichigo is such an awesome character, sometimes stubborn, but always fighting for a cause. And when there's trouble with a friend, he is always there to help and fight for/with them. Each time I see him, he's always stronger than before; it's almost like there's no limit to his strength. I found that there are a lot of funny moments with Ichigo and friends, and yet there are a lot of serious moments, adding to plot even more. I definitely recommend reading, and then watching, Bleach because plot, theme, character design, etc. are really good throughout Bleach. And, it may help that Ichigo doesn't look that bad as the anime progresses (especially in his Bankai form). FYI, I'm Ichihime all the way! smile

I just don't get others who says Bleach was fabulous till soul society arc or Bleach died for me after it or it became boring for me afterwards and so on... I just ask those guys if you have some many complaints then why don't you just stop reading it...
It really makes me laugh... You are saying all those bad words about Bleach but at the same time reading it regulary... LOL
If BLEACH died for you after soul society arc then why not stop reading it?? Then why do you bother criticizing latest arcs too!!!!

Do yourself a favor and drop it after the Rescue Rukia arc, everything after that is all dragged on. Kubo trying to create some suspenseful moments and plot twists but failing to do so miserably.

My biggest issue with this series is Ichigo is the main character but all he has is:
Getsuga Tenshou
Bankai
Hollowfication (Don't even count the full hollowfication vs Ulquiorra)
And that new thing I forgot the name in the recent chapters

How can he learned his hollowfication but can't even use Cero like everyone else? Then he always has some magical powerup during or directly before battle and goes to win.

With all that said I love Bleach's art the most, but creativity-wise One Piece beats it. (Don't forget I said creativity-wise, not in general drawing characters, but different looks and so on) I look forward to Kubo's new work though, I only keep reading it cause I read so far and only takes 10 seconds to read Bleach's chapters nowadays anyways.

how could this kind of series goes on? like the other has already commented, I think the Soul Society arc was fabulous. And as that one arc was too good, the later arc just not charming enough. I actually hated all of them

A piece of advice, do yourself a favor and quit after Volume 48, because what comes next is one exercise in jumping the shark after another as Kubo fills in plot holes that could have been covered in prequel arcs.
