SHOCKING ENDING!

What an unfortunate ending.. really sad.

I find this manga really depressing but I still understand the situation by reading the whole story..
It's kinda draggy at beginning and its really sad that the heroine is the most pathetic and some what really naive/clueless.. but its understandable, though... hakuron is agressive and very forceful towards her I think he truely love her... hmmm.. there are lots of misuderstanding going on and also involve alot of people that want to tear them apart...

Also it has the proof that Hakuron really LOVES Kurumi.. he may done it in a demonic way but the feeling of protecting someone is stronger .. though he doesnt want to hurt Kurumi but for her sake he'll be the strongest man that can only protect her even it cost his life... (just like the endling)...

Really shoking story.. but thats how it ends.. at least he left something special for her (KITTEN=CAT)... even they are apart, as long as they think about each other and love each other... that only matters.. I think.... very corny and naive thoughts but it works only in manga world..

ah...wat theconfused i donno y but i had to finish it, if just to see how much more unbelievably the storyline could cross the boundary of sanity...i don get how she could love him, wouldn u wanna escape from that horrible man as soon as possibleconfused and him!! wat was up with thatconfused? how can he treat his 'precious woman' like that?? really? its way too unbelievable!!
all in all, this is one twisted plot! i wanted to scream at the girl to grow a backbone, a brain, and get a sense of self respect!!
there may be people out there who really like dis manga, i respect that even tho i dont personally understand it

I gave it a 9

I would've given it a 10, if not for those way too brutal rape scenes.
I generally loved it. Usually I get bored really fast by mangas and never bother to read every word, but with Haou Airen it was totally different. It only took me a day and a half to finish reading! Something about Shinjo Mayu's work is working on me.
It's hard to surprise me, but this manga surprised me at times. When I least expected it to.
I enjoyed this manga very much and I totally recommend it to others.

I did enjoy this story, but there were moments when I wanted to stop. The only times I wanted to stop were when Hakuron became WAY too possessive over Kurumi and forced sex on her all the time. It's like her whole day was devoted to her practically being raped by Hakuron. I still don't understand why he woul forcefully have sex with her, when he cared about a lot. Luckily, she had a memory problem so she forgot about what Hakuron did and their relationship turned back to normal, back to how it used to be before sex every day. I did cry my eyes out at the end though for they were about to be married when something happened. And, Kurumi and Hakuron's relationship was really good, but then someone had to interfere in their lives to seek revenge for what Hakuron did to Kurumi. I wish the ending weren't as depressing and I wish Hakuron wasn't so possessive or else I would really love this manga. But, I do still enjoy reading it.

It took me a long (long...) time to read this because it seemed every time kurumi and hakuron's relationship got a bit “normal” someone would come along and screw it up but in the end I finally read it and even now I occasionally reread my favorite parts and think about it a bit. I cried a lot in this and will I actually like crying it got old sometimes. A little too sad.
But all in all I liked it in a very sadistic way. It did in fact live up to a TRUE tragedy even if the characters were pretty dumb in how the fell head over heals in love so quick but I mean IT IS a shinjo mayu manga. It is one of my favorite tragedies and a favorite of mayu's works.
I wouldn't recommend this for the faint of heart its sad and pretty much shuts your anticipation for a happy ending only to leave you thinking 'wtf just happened?' in the end.

WTF dude

OK.. (raised eyebrows) So I have a few words to say. While I like the story, (I really do) there are some things that don't make any sense. If you love someone and knew what they were about FROM the beginning, why would you then in turn doubt them even when they try to prove to you otherwise. And how can love be so twisted! I know the path to true love is never (always) smooth, but come on!!

And what the hell is Fuuron's problem. I just don't understand him. And seriously Shinjo... Why would Hakuron do that. It makes no type of sense. Because that would obviously make his love more difficult smh

Love the series. Really do, but wtf dude?!!

Just to say...

I initially dislike it because of the main girl's personality. She's just so... weak, dependent, and all of those other annoying stereotypical shojo characteristics.
They don't really match... It's like a bunny and a lion together.. nuh uh. Also there's something to the drawing (def. the pigtails...) that makes me think pedophilia whenever I see the 2 together. Erg. Shudder.
The romance is good at the beginning then things started to go down hill cuz they don't follow the most important rule in a relationship: communication. Jeez...
The art is weird. I suppose there's nothing wrong with the faces, but the proportion of the body is a bit...off somehow. I don't know. Don't really like the art that much.
But the plot is complicated--totally dominated by the romance. Hmm.. how to explain it; like a double harem. A lot of girls like the main guy. A lot of guys like the main girl.
There's a lot of sex scene. I don't think it's that explicit cuz I have seen worse, but some may say it is. Everything from the waist down is covered by some bed sheets or another body. But the top (breasts) is often exposed, especially towards the middle til end. Mostly it just leaves things to imagination, even if it doesn't take a lot of that. So...yea. Just to warn you of that.
Despite being a gang-related manga, there's not a lot of blood. Not a lot of fights either.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
one last complaint, I don't know about you but I think suicide for love is extremely stupid. also memory loss??? HAHA! that's too classic, it's not even funny. ...aaaannnndd the ending...ohhh hahha the ending pissed me off.

I guess I do enjoyed it to some extent. Maybe it's because of all the dramatic effects and the power of obsessive love (and not just from 1 person!!). haha. But it's far from being the best I have ever read.

While i do agree this should not be catergorized as shoujo its more josei all other negative comments are haters. The art is beautiful and the smut better than ive ever seen. but the ending is quite sad and its to heavy for light hearted manga readers but the plot was perfected at parts i was angry why wont he just say he loves her but overall it was a great and one of my favorite mangas
