the plot was generally common, having one protagonist seeing the other as a rival, but the way the mangaka presented the story was interesting. its not your tear jerking type. its a good read if you're not into very deep plots.
the characters were unique. the female's personality was different compared to your stereotypical shoujo heroine (somewhat emotional). she doesnt assume to much things and does things at her own pace. although the male lead was your stereotypical hero (popular, handsome, perfect), i was somewhat intrigued by how he was portrayed. he needs more masculinity. its was cute seeing the way he tries to win over her and somehow fails, looking all weird.

It kind of reminds me of Special A, boy loves girl but girl is a dumbass and doesn't see it at first. (that sounded harsh but i like that cliche.) The big difference for me what that the guy was always behind the girl, that was interesting. It's a good story and i loved reading it.
It's like Special A, but the guy is actually the protagonist. The prince is trying to get the girl, but he's incapable of getting girls that aren't already in love with him. To complicate things further, the girl is (generally) emotionless and oblivious to his advances. With this setup, romance is slow, but so are many shoujo romances.

Plot advances fast in the beginning (elementary school to college in three chapters), but that simply sets the scene for college. There are many cute moments in this manga, and the artwork is a pleasure to look at. It's cliche, but nothing is overdone. An sweet, indulgent manga with nice art to go with it.

I totally love this series. It has sort of a easygoing feel to it (due to Kujou) and the art isn't bad.

If you have read Koi dano Ai dano and liked it, then you would probably like this one. It's pretty similar.
Except, the span of this manga is long and the plot moves fast (as in flash forwarding really fast, but no development to speak of). I felt it was going a bit fast at times: going from elementary school, to middle school, then high school, and then to college (the setting of most of the plot so far)--in a span of a couple of chapters. But it's not that big of a deal as I'm making it out to be. Just think of it has having tons of flashbacks and the beginning chapters being the introduction to their relationship.
The romance isn't...moving at all. Ok, it's kinda is, but reaaaallllyy slowly. The heroine is utterly oblivious afterall.

Everytime i read a chaprter of this, i smile all the time and i will be happy for the whole day.
The female lead is independent and has a character, that will develop during the series so i probably won't repeat itself again and again. The male lead actually has a character that is individual and not like every other handsome shoujou guy.

Finally a shoujo where the female is at least as smart as the male lead. Of course there are already some exceptional stories with this trait but it's past time this was the rule and not the exception.

This manga is absolutely adorable! It's got humor, romance, sweetness, more humor, more sweetness... Oh, it's just perfect. I absolutely loved it.
My only complaint is that the ending seems a bit incomplete. As some others have said, I'd love to see this with one more chapter, at least - if not another whole volume. This is just that good, you don't want it to ever end - but I especially didn't want it to end where it did! It would be a perfect 10 with a slightly more "complete" ending. Still, it's not a BAD ending. We all know how it's going to work out in the end and what Yanagi says on that last page is just one of the sweetest, most romantic things I've ever seen in a manga. So cute. LoveLoveLove.

This manga is so cute and so sweet it kills me. I LOVE it and I'm almost completely immune to all these cliches after I've read so much shoujo. However this manga is entertaining and so adorable that the cliches make it better. Both characters are so lovable and I am a sucker for those childhood friends/rivals romances.
I think the art matches the cuteness of the story and makes this fun to read.
For me Last Game hit the right spot completely and I am so looking forward to the continuation <333
