It's okay.

It's not and it will never be something that I avidly wait for updates or look for raws, but it's not bad. Frankly, the entire story is not too compelling. I like slow romances, and even love them on occasion, but this manga doesn't really have a cohesive plot that makes it into a story. It's basically a series of connected oneshots, something that I don't necessarily mind, but the plotlines of those oneshots are becoming even more pointless and annoying. And please keep in mind that I am an avid reader of shoujo and therefore cliches of all kind.

By the way, let's straighten this out. I have nothing against kids, IRL or in manga, and the kids and childcare in this manga are not the problem---they're actually adorable. It's the supposed "side-plots" that are somehow important but end up being absurdly fluffy (yes, there is such a thing) and make me want to drop this piece of over-sweetened candy. The main plot has probably taken up around half of the available chapters (including raws). My main point would be well, it's not really "slow romance." It's the "how long can I possibly drag out this piece of unrealistic shoujo slice-of-life fluff before the readers give up on it?" sort of romance.

In that sort of manner, it's a nice read for when you have absolutely nothing to do, and feel like reading something that makes you feel like a shoujo girl all over again. That is, if you ignore the parts that are just too annoying to be cute. The childcare premise done with the usual cliche is cute enough; adding in more cliches and pointless "drama" with the friends of the main characters doesn't add to this manga, it just makes the read less of a slice-of-life and therefore less readable and relateable. Overall, I'd say it's a manga you read at the same pace the plot goes at. Slowly, without really a need to see what happens next because it's quite predictable---even the random side-plots.

Just to clarify further, Love so Life isn't particularly bad. There's just no substance. I thought it was cute at the beginning, but the side plots with her friends and complete lack of development in ANY arena (characters, plot, etc) is beginning to annoy me. That and not all the characters are as likable as the main male lead. The main girl is quite typical, but relatively bland and therefore provides little room for complaint, but the friends? Now they give cliches an even worse reputation.

Anyway, if you like fluffiness and not plot, then this is the manga for you. Really, this shouldn't even be a manga. There's no story.

Fluffy Manga

This manga gives me a happy fluffy feeling whenever I read it.I love the heroine so much. Shiharu is so mature and the twins are just so cute. Also, the main guy, Matsunaga, is so cool. The romance progress is kinda killing me. It's soooooooooooooo damn slow. This manga is definitely worthy to read. smile

It's like real life!

It may be an exaggeration, but this manga truly fits into the slice-of-life genre without the depressing angst and soap opera-like plot twists. My favorite parts of this series is the natural development of events, where things don't happen just because there is a "chance" or "opportunity" to develop the plot. Like chapter 35: totally expecting some lovey-dovey moment, but in one page the author dispelled all hopes of THAT particular scene... bigrazz Also, I can see the characters as real people. Matsunaga, for instance, is attractive and handsome but he has his shortcomings and bad points as well. Maybe because I'm closer to his age I feel a lot of empathy when it comes to him. Shiharu makes a great heroine, but she also has her strengths and weaknesses as a person. And Rio is amazing. Basically, this would make not only a great anime, but a great live action... if somebody could cast two-year-old twins.

Reading this manga just leaves you feeling all warm and cuddly inside; Shiharu is so sweet and hard-working, and the little twins are so dang adorable! The romance is nice, too, and you really just don't want to put this down! It's relatable, and just seems really fresh, and new, despite the cliches. Totally recommended! Reading this will definitely brighten up your day <3

The art is very cute, the story line is heartwarming. Every time I read this, I smile and I feel happy. It is just a fun read. I guess you can find something deep in the plot about love, childhood, family, growing up, but no convoluted meanings. It is what it is. The romance is sweet. Even though the story is about ordinary life, it is addicting and I always look forward to reading a new chapter. Love So Life reminds me of a hot cup of lemon-honey tea.

you can see the twins aren't always cute and sweet all the time but sometimes they are naughty and greedy so our little main character helps and teaches them. really cute manga to read

This doesn't read like a shoujo manga at all. I love the slice of life theme!
At times i want the series to end, just so that i know who she will end up with....because she has to end up with the one i like!!!LOL
Other times, i want the series to go on for more and more episodes. A compromise would be for her to have her romance already, and the author can just continue with the slice of life and other things that i'm sure will happen.

So far there is not much drama, but there two things that leave my stomach in knots.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Is her father really dead, or was it something her mother made up. Which also makes me wonder if a relative who was not at the funeral, might not show up later...The biggest worry is the father of the twins. What will happen when he gets back? Will he want to separate her from the children by trying to be proper father, or will he be a romantic obstacle for his brother?

I should have waited until more volumes were released, but the blurb just kept taunting me to read it....Now i must suffer!

Cute, but Not Perfect

29 chapters with only the faintest hint of attraction makes TRMshadow an unhappy boy. I will however admit that the kawaii-ness of Aoi and Akane is a little too much to control. Overall a great lighthearted manga well worth the couple hours I've put into reading it. Definitely read this if you're still on the fence about it, though I will warn, the romance doesn't come quick.

This could be a slice of life, because its soooo relaxing. So cute, i find it adorable how the main protagonists didnt fall in love at first sight, but are now slowly falling in love. The twins are sooooo cute too. The main girl is the typical heroine in shoujo, but it doesnt really matter because overall this is sooo relaxing and adorable. And the main guy, omg. Too great*.*
