Pathetic

It had a good beginning, about a guy who gets heartbroken and tries to start again while struggling with his insecurities. Then after things wrap up with the girl he wants, the author decides to make this guy act like an idiot getting insecure for any girl trying to get his attention, bringing us back with the latest chapter to the first situation with the first girl. It's like if the whole plot were supposed to be endlessly being insecure between all the possible girls he could be with. While it might be fun for a while, the latest chapters just demonstrate lack of ideas and a story simply going around in circles instead of developing further. I'm seriously thinking about dropping this one.

annoying manga...

...thats idea of drama is to pretend like one thing will happen, then do the opposite... and to throw random impediments into the mix to prolong resolution. I wouldn't care so much but for the fact that the quality is generally pretty high, and if certain key elements were tweaked this could have been a very good manga.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
And c'mon, do the girls really have to be tainted? It's depressing and totally unnecessary. The main girl was apparently maliciously deceived into having sex with an audience, and the alternate girl is now out of the picture being sullied by some random guy...

Falters after a while

Starts out quite strong with a interesting pair of leads: a boy shy and sensitive to the point of weakness (although the story is not dismissive of him) and a very assertive girl with a somewhat unusual appearance (though quite beautiful). Watching the male lead try to fight his weakness and approach the girl he likes is quite involving.

The problem happens when the initial plotline wraps up. It's awful when a series won't stop dwelling on something that should have ended long ago, but after Good Ending closes it off and moves on, it's nowhere near as interesting. It starts dwelling on...nothing, really, and really drags its feet getting to the next plot in exact the way it didn't during the first plotline. Too little happens in each chapter at this point to really call it good.

True true

In agreement with Kouta; this manga is a bit deviant of its genre, but in a good sense. It is true that when the manga at its first chapters, the protagonist is as wimp as one could be (= big turn off). But only in few chapters later, thanks to reasonable development (read: isn't dragged on), the protagonist turn out to be so much better. The story of one male with several females in about-to-be romantic term never been this enjoyable.

(true that this genre has a lot of potentials that haven't been exploited, but for few years to come, GE can be said to be the best)

A nice break from the usual

I've gone through 25 chapters of this, and I have to admit, it's a pleasant surprise. The protagonist is a twist on the stereotypical shounen romantic comedy lead. Instead of being hilariously (or pathetically) inept and landing in awkward situations for the fanservice after being led around and teased by girls, he's actually found one that decides to help him out. After that, it's as if nearly all the cliches fall away.

In short, this series has elements of realism, or at the least, elements we don't see in normal stuff of this genre.

On a true scale, where 5 is an average, enjoyable series, this is at least a 7 at this point. Hoping to see some more.

Masochist

The mangaka really hate the protagonist, it's really hard for me to continue this series after the main protagonist is obviously a masochist. The main protagonist didn't learned his lesson and keep repeating the same mistake making me so pissed off.

First chapter sets up the Rest

I don't think you should drop it after just the first chapter. That's just setting up the characters. It gets better really fast, especially in terms of character and plot development. I'd like it if none of the shounen cliches were around, but having to only deal with very few is good enough. Plus, Yuki is always there to set those generic shonen assumptions straight.

Yuki's a strong character, which is great.

I got drawn in by the beautiful cover image up there, but the main character was such an annoying spineless whiner I almost abandoned it after the first couple chapters. Boy am I glad I didn't! Stick with this, it gets better fast.

This series has a strong start. I´m upto chapter seven and the only complaint I have is the cliche ending to that specific chapter. It´s such a false start.

But that aside, the writer has skill in working within the confines of what you´d traditionally expect from a shounen romance while clearly standing out. the characters are like 80 percent real, and only 20 percent cliche. You can say the same for development. Half of the advice is fairly good while some of it seems a bit diluted or worded with a manga cliche in mind.

Update: It's already turning into a huge disappointment. It's not bad if you haven't read many shounen romances or you don't mind them, but I look for the exceptions to the rule. This seemed like a good one at first but it's fallen hard. Plus, once you have three girls at once, it's basically a harem.

nice plot...

at the beginning, one would think of manga like Ichigo 100%, or Suzuka. but as the story progress, you can at the very least distinguish the difference. though still on the chapter 7, but the story so far already give suspense on what will happen next. there's not a lot of manga that give much excitement while waiting for the next release. hopefully the next chapter will satisfy the excitement it had given. but still a good manga.

i'll be looking forward to this. i'll change this post after i read the next chapter.
