Really Nice!

I really enjoyed Strobe Edge. The artwork really fit my tastes in that it was very "shoujo-like" for lack of a better word haha. It was really cute, innocent and made a smile the whole way through. I couldn't stop reading. In my opinion, the characters were well developed and I loved all of them. The plot was really adorable and the story flowed and connected very smoothly. It's the kind of story that makes you go all warm and fuzzy on the inside yet feel the hardships of the characters as well. The mangaka is strongly recommended! However, I don't really know what to say about the ending. Maybe that's because I can't believe it's over. But, read it and find out yourself! enjoy biggrin

Must Read!

I love it so much! I really recommend this manga for comics lovers romantic. The story is familiar to be comic, but if you read this comic you would know the difference from the usual. The characters are also strong, and sometimes hard to guess the story. the telling of the story is also very flowing and I actually cried when the parts sad or even when moving at a very happy time.

Slow romance indeed sometimes make annoyance when reading it, because the characters are really stoic. And this is one of them in addition to kimi ni todoke which makes me very forcefully when reading it. Compulsory for read!

If you get past the first half, surprisingly a good read.

I actually stopped reading this and put it on hold because I thought it was boring and typical, but when it was on the list of completed manga, I decided to go back to it after reading the comments.
I liked the later half of the series a lot more. Seeing Ren start to fall for her and her not responding to him (or pretending not to and hiding her feelings) and her telling everyone she doesn't like Ren anymore is what made me keep reading on. The usual heroine would've tried dating Andou to forget about her feelings. She's one of those few heroines who isn't self-important and considers the feelings of everyone involved. And yet, she stays loyal to her feelings. At one point she even decides not to date either of them. I really enjoyed when she rejects Ren's confession. Her reactions to the situations are very different from the typical shoujo heroine and even admirable. I won't spoil the ending, but it definitely satisfies. Unlike most manga endings, it ties up things really well.

Worth reading

I think this series is really good. Beside just a regular school life romance shoujo, I really like the spice of comedy in it. I can't stop smiling when reading. I appreciate the fact that every detailed of the characters are covered. Each character has their very own history and background. Almost all have their happy endings, even though some did not get together with the one they like, they have no more regrets. that's more than anything else.

Definitely worth reading. I was hoping that the mangaka will write another series as such.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Wah~ Just finished reading it today~ I just loved Ren. He's just so darned cute, especially once he started liking Ninako. (This is not a spoiler~ It's expected in every way~) The plot was typical and all, but it was fun nonetheless since it made sure everyone got their ending (EXCEPT FOR ANDOU AND THAT SCARY CHICK....). Well, if you like typical shoujo with a very very hot guy then it's pretty cool.

This is one of the best shoujo I've ever read, hands down. Its so simple and pure that it makes me wanna fall in love too! Haha! And this is the first time I like all the characters; for I usually dislike characters like Andou, but in this case, I find myself wanting Kinoshita to get together with him too! And Ren is pure awesome. Lol I laughed so much at his "I'm impure" moment. This guy's so cute!

this is coming from someone who just read the series straight through.

EDIT: after reading some negative reviews, I just wanted to add this: do not read this if you absolutely hate any stories involving a girl getting together with someone who starts off already having a girlfriend. I understand the reviewer was in that point in their lives where cheating is the center cause of problems and worry for them, and for that, I say I'm sorry they can't see past something so shallow. The purpose of this shoujo and the main theme of Strobe Edge is to explore the human condition of "keeping things in" and validating those feelings by exploring such characters. Strobe Edge's only purpose is to tell you to communicate your feelings by showing you why you should not shoulder the blame all on yourself. This theme will poorly translate to those people such as the negative reviewer who ruined the story for themselves. To say the girl made the boy "confused" and accuses the girl of "making the boy cheat" is not only relieving the cheating boy of any responsibility and grossly oversimplifies the over arcing story, but this is the very cycle of toxic attitudes that Strobe Edge seeks to stop perpetuating! Please do not read this manga, even with all the hype, if you are at the point in your lives where you would see cheating as a bigger issue in the world than keeping emotions bottled up and unspoken. If this is you, please do everyone a favor. And now onto my review:

this is one of the best quality shoujo you'll ever read because every single character has depth, and by depth, i mean they honest to goodness act like how real people act in the real world. They aren't blind about what they do (they have a set mind and they all act on firm reasons) and people treat each other with realistic consideration.

honestly, i'm impressed by the intelligence. This book explores the social phenomenon of "keeping things in" so depth by setting so many examples. From the fact that the side characters had loose ends, and they properly tied them back up (see v07c25 for specifics), to the fact that the classmates tell each other for example "hey, if we tried hard, it could actually make the festival fun!" I'll tell you, my school environment could never reach such an enlightened enthusiasm. They always saw "trying hard" as looking uncool. Well, i don't know how effective these nuances have over people who read it, but this manga hints to inspire a better mental well-being for youth. it goes without saying, these characters are vibrant, and the environment is vibrant. It really brings to light how people aren't as complicated as you think, yet it's how you don't know bits and pieces of their story that makes you think they are complicated. Ren is admired by so many girls as being "cool" but he's really just a simple guy who thinks about dinner trying to mature. Furthermore, the girls don't start being disinterested when that fact is made obvious either. The environment of this manga is FRIENDLY and REALISTIC. it just isn't one of those annoying comics that dramatizes everything and makes the character end up looking dumb for not doing this or that. you just don't see a lot of pieces like this nowadays.

anyway, even without going all indepth, the ~moe~ is so powerful here *____* this manga series is quality. i totally recommend it ^^d

A very nice piece of shoujo

Though usually the plot with undecisive heroine and two guys who fell for her barely shows anything worthy this mangaka acctually managed to pull it off. It's probably the first time I really enjoyed a shoujo where the female isn't strong.

The art is amazing, probably couldn't ask anything more from this genre, expressions are great and befitting the mood. And also what impressed me most is that you can actually reason with Ninako's choices and feeling even if you don't believe that you should stick with one person for forever and ever. The flow of her thoughts and her actions are also right for the age she is.

To sum up mangaka did a really good job taking traditional plot and giving it a new refreshing feeling.
A must read for shoujo fans.

I've read it. I've reread it. (I haven't finished it, waiting for scans). It left a really warm feeling in my heart. Like, this girl is so pure, and all she wants to do is to treasure her feelings. It made me want to fall in love because it's so... refreshing?! Even though I know that love is painful, this manga made me feel all fuzzy and sparkly. Haaha I don't know how to describe it.

It's cute. It's good. (:

i garrantee that you will have that heart wrenching feeling in every chapter that you read of strobe edge! i giggle with excitement when the littlest developement occurs between the two main characters! it's that good! If you love the cool and calm bishounen type and a cute and unbiased shojo lead then you'll definetly love this series! It's so innocently pure (kinda like kimi ni todoke but better)...i wish more mangas were like this one!
