A great manga and my favorite...

For a story with an ordinary idea (i.e., girl transported to another world), it has a lot of unique charm which outshines other mangas of this type and in some cases most shoujo's. The author created a wonderful story of two lonely individuals who only had each other, their strength and love, to fight against evil. Noriko, the female protagonist, is adorable without being stupid and Izark, the male protagonist, is handsome and strong yet shy, vulnerable, and apprehensive that make him very much human (aside from his supernatural powers). Moreover, artistry is nice; the author thoughtfully focused on "painting" the emotions of the characters, particularly the two protagonists, which made you understand their emotional struggles and feelings instead of focusing on unnecessary detail.

Overall, it's a great manga that you would want to read more than once, and the second time you discover more subtle details either about the story or the art (i.e., Noriko's hair is longer in later volumes to symbolize the passing of time) that make this manga even more special and appreciate the author's work and efforts.

i loved this. i was looking for a similar story to Red River and found this one. i'd anticipated really enjoying Red River and expected so much from it, only to be disappointment with the heroine's stupidity. i stopped reading after seven chapters. she was plain foolish. and a foolish main character grates on my nerves. the girl from this story, however, had tenacity and determination. if she wasn't exceptionally bright, she wasn't an idiot, leading the hero into danger recklessly either. the plot was wonderful, the hero was a bit cliche, but loveable. i stayed up late and got up early to read all of it. a very satisfying read where the characters grow, and plot is more than an afterthought.

Yep beauty and the beast. Except he's more than just a beast. He's got the looks, the style and the attitude. She is the light to his darkness. The most adorable and lovable manga ever.

A must read. Seriously. If you don't like it then you can run back and punch me in the face.

I dunno, maybe it was just me, but I started getting bored at times, and then at others I loved it. It's overall a good read, but at sometimes it seemed too far fetched somehow to me.

9.5 out of 10 reminds me of anatolia story only way less erotic also you can be proud of main char. but nothing absolutly amazing. Some drama and good pics tho. If you want something top notch check out Saver, Immortal rain, red river, basara, model, queens knight or Kodocha

I absolutely loved the first 1/2 of the story with its engaging characters and the wonderful development between Izark and Noriko. And then the story fell apart in the last few volumes. What was once a strength for the series quickly became a liability. All the cuteness and goodness of the protagonists became quite annoying, and it didn't help when everybody started talking about "finding your LIGHT and defeat the DARKNESS", oh please! I also found that Rachief was not developed enough. His later actions in the series were very interesting, but he was not given enough focus to allow his character to reach its potential. Overall, this was a fun and sugary manga, and one which I think was somewhat of a pioneer in the shoujo genre when it was first published; but in light of what society is like in the 21st Century, I think a lot of readers are after stories that incorporate more character and plot depth.

I cannot fault this manga; the characters develop, the plot is pretty flawless, the main female isn't really whiney and annoying but funny and likeable and the setting is well designed and portrayed. There is an array of side characters but the story never deviates from the main two characters and thus the plot is never interrupted or stalled (which sometimes happens in shoujo mangas). Possibly my favourite ever manga, which I could read repeatedly. Other works from this mangaka are just as good, all are completely different but her art is consistently solid and her storylines enthralling.

I usually get bored with adventure mangas probably because most of them tend to repeat the same kind of adventures over and over again, its as if the writer writes extra adventures just to prolong the story. This manga, however, had adventures, events, that were all well connected, it never felt like the author was writing more stories just to prolong the manga.

The concept of the manga seems (girl transport to an unknown world) cliche but the way the author delivered the story was interesting and worth reading. Like what other people have quoted before, it doesn't matter if a story is cliche, what matters is the way it delivered the story to the reader, whether it was interesting, fascinating, etc.

I also love the two protagonist of the story. Noriko, the female protagonist, may at times be irritating because she calls out her hero all the time to save her but she has more redeeming qualities that more than compensate for her irritating nature.

The story is well put together, from the beginning to the end. I enjoyed reading the romance, adventure, and light fantasy element of the story. It's one of the few adventure mangas I actually enjoyed reading.

Now, I normally get kinda bored with the schoolgirl-in-another-world plots, but this one grabbed me and held me. I chalk it up to lovely art, likeabe characters, and the dynamics of the fantasy world itself. Oh, and the chimos. The chimooos. It's kinda nice to see the cute animal mascot actually having some purpose besides marketability. ^^
