It was pretty good... but i could already tell in the later chapters she wasn't gonna end up with the person i wanted her to... so i dropped it. the slice of life part was really good, but i was really disappointed in the outcome of the romance...

Cat street was seriously lovely manga! When I read it I could feel sympathy for the characters, because the emotions were really real. Sometimes it made me feel like crying, and when I finished reading I felt weird. I didn't want it to end. Still the ending was great!
The problems the characters had were real. Although not everyone has been a child star! But the feeling of insecurity is familiar for everyone.
I can just say that I loved it and I've liked also the óther works of the Kamio Youko!

a sure hooker for me

now this is way too special for me. I guess i should say i'm the kind of person who really can't finish manga. This isn't my first manga but to think that i finished it, makes me say this is definitely good, I mean the BEST!! super!

"this is the first manga I finished." I just can't help thinking about it again and again. I get haunted in my dreams..!! golly G!!! I'm crazy!

Thinking that I read this manga makes me think that I owe the people who posted positive comments. and it's a big debt!!!!!

Now I know what Kouichi(character from manga) feels. sitting infront of the computer like you won't feel hungry and sleepy at all. This is what Cat Street made me feel. I could finish it in a day but I would end up grounded if I won't sleep.

Indeed!!! a sure hooker!! READ IT! just don't quite mind if you don't like the plot summary.

Reading the whole manga FEELS TOO DIFFERENT than just reading the summary. I bet you'll owe me too!! *winks*

Cat Street is like... whoa! Amazing. Lately, I've been reading lots of one shots. Good thing I finally decided to read this manga. As expected from Kamio Yoko sensei. Wow. It was a nice ride.

The problem now is how to find a new manga to read after this one.

By the way, I can't believe the jdorama's only 6 episodes!!!

You know you have read a good manga when you can reread it over, knowing everything that will happen next, and still experience positive emotions. I have reread this manga over and over again, and even on the 5th run through...

Kouichi's confession still struck a chord in my heart
.
I was still able to cry at the sad and touching parts and laugh at the funny parts.

It was everything I love about manga all wrapped in one: a slice-of-life plot about facing life's obstacles with a beautiful and NATURAL romance, with a touch of light-hearted comedy at times. In addition, the main character, Keito, has a strong personality, as opposed to the countless mangas out there where the main girl's purpose in life is too get a boyfriend.

The reason why i stress the "natural" is because the romance in this series felt very realistic and beautiful. It breaks the norm of the predetermined couple, but does not fully surprise the reader in the end. As I read the manga, the subtle build-up was a good transition to the final couple.

The plot was amazing as well. All the countless lessons learned...some of which have inspired me. At times I felt I could relate to some of the characters. All the characters are lovable, by the way. Even Chika, who angered me a certain time, and Nako, the former antagonist.

Kamio made a good decision by ending the manga where It was. I resent the countless mangas out there whose endings were prolonged and did not stay true to the original plot.

The only thing the manga lacked was the depth-ness for the family. I have seen the drama, and although it was not as good as the manga, I appreciate how they had family development. (The only other thing is how i wished they had more.....

cute Kouichi and Keito moments after they got together

XD but that's just a matter of preference)

Overall, I recommend this manga to anyone, no matter the gender or age. Although, I'm not sure it will be appealing at first to the shoujo-crazy preteens out there.

I really don't know why I didn't decide to read this manga earlier. Even though I was impressed by Kamio's work on Hana Yori Dango (even though almost everybody says it's way too dramatic and unrealistic, I loved it), this title just never called my attention. I started reading it today and, to my surprise, I couldn't stop.
Like many others have said, it's not your typical shoujo manga. Even though there is romance as a part of the life of the characters, it's not the main point (which is great). It's a story that has a "deep" meaning and teaches good lessons..."Because we're all like... stray cats". I think that a lot of people go through times like that (one of the things that makes it so realistic), and it would be great if a place like El Liston existed (really).

I totally recommend it to all the people that wants to enjoy an excellent slice of life manga.

It should be known as one of the top shoujo manga out there. The character development was good, as well as the plot. The romance in the manga was beautiful as well. I loved who she ended up with since they had the best connection in the manga. It produced a lasting effect on me. After reading it, I was haunted on how beautiful it was.

I have always read manga and have read too many of the shoujo kind but this one is one of my list of favorites which is not too many.... not too manga have a lasting effect that will leave something in your memory but this one is... I love her transition being in dark then going to the light and it's really somewhat close to reality which not most shoujo type is not.... the growth of the characters, the art, the characters it self are lovable... specially Kouichi... ooohh how i love him!!! i like mysterious guys like him though i think that it's a bit lacking on the romance side where even for the first chapters I've been rooting for them!!! well I recommend it to all!!! it's a great read!!

Much better than Hana Yori Dango

I'm sorry guys... Hana Yori Dango was too dragged out and encumbered and absolutely unrealistic. Countless characters were introduced, very few of which played a lasting role to the story. It was too episodic at times with a thin overarching story. After a few of these episodes, you could already tell which way the ending was headed.

Cat Street was quite the opposite and on top of that, conveyed a great message. There are a lot of people who have lost their path in life; if only a school like El Liston could exist to bring them back on track.

Sort of gives away some of the story:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
On top of that, I did not expect that twist. Really, I figured it would be like any other sort of generic shoujo, where you could tell who the final couple would be, just drearily waiting till they finally get together. I'm very thankful it's not like that, and that is one of the prime reasons I give this a 10.
