Walking home from school one day, Noriko is innocently caught up in a terrorist bombing. Rather than being blown to bits, she finds herself transported to another world; a world in which darkness seems on the rise, as its powers desperately search for a being known as the Awakening whom it is said will awaken the Sky Demon. She finds this new world to be dangerous and overwhelming, and Noriko has little choice but to throw her lot in with the mysteriously powerful man she encounters upon her arrival. The enigma of this world and her role in it will gradually unfold, but first things first: Noriko must learn their language!

In 2004, this manga won the 35th annual Seiun Award for best science fiction comic.

I really like this manga. It's long but it flows really well and none of the characters are boring.

Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

I recommend this manga, if you are in need of something to read. The story is very interesting, the art is good, not the best, but good, the characters are typical, and their relationship kinda just goes like.."oh, i love you, now, even though..." no build up, and their are cliches, but what is a shoujo manga without them? I would've rather seen this as a novel, though.

I admit I'm a bit of a sucker for the stories where the main heroine or hero gets transported to some other world, so I was quite looking forward to reading this one. Overall, I enjoyed Kanata Kara, it was actually quite good, at times, though, I found myself comparing it to Anatolia story (one of my favorite series now), and some how found this one just a bit lacking. The main heroine gets on my nerves and I found her quite irritating, and at times found myself wishing I could whack her on the head. She fits that typical heroine (which I am getting dreadfully bored of). Still, like I said, this isn't a waste of time, and it's an enjoyable read, just not something that I would read twice...

It was ALRIGHT. that's about it. The drawings was just OKAY. Nothing extremely special. Similar to Fushigi Yuugi. The romance was lovey dovey without being too heavy. Storyline is unique, but really didn't interest me as much. Not a must read for me, but more for people who enjoys fighting and minimum romance.

Love this type of manga so from the beginning it was already worth half the points, then the arts is splendid and the storyline is awesome... 10/10. Worth a reading, recommended for everyone :]

I thought it was okay. At times I was addicted, at times just wanted to get it done. It was pretty good. One of the main things I had a problem with was how corny it got at some points. But... all in all, read it just in case it suits your tastes.

Great story, the first couple volumes were really addicting. The character development was pretty good too, the only downside to the this manga was that it was a bit long and slow sometimes. But, other than that the ending was very satisfying and all in all it was a good story.

This is a great story for hopeless romantics who love to delve into an epic world full with hot bishies. The character development is slow int he beginnig but eventually are very heartwarming. The story is really addidictive after the first 3 or 4 volumes. The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is because the heroine and hero roles were pretty stereotypical and a little more romancing would have been perfect.

I picked it up because I liked Chiho Saito's work and red river but this one's matches all of them and the best thing in this manga is actually the heroinne. I don't know why but I totally adore her also the other characters are really interesting. It's simply one of teh best manga's out there
