This is a story of mistakes, redemption, and the choices made in between. It contains the worst and best of the human condition.

I can't believe it

Good Lord. I thought there was seriously something wrong with me to start reading this manga xD But it really was incredible! The masturbation tends toward being more of a plot device than anything else, and for something with a title like this, it's got very little to no hentai (although what is there is a little disturbing.. well, I'm a girl I guess), and... it's got a really good story. The protagonist does some serious growing up throughout. There aren't even any lame penis jokes.

Altogether, this manga took a dashedly awkward subject and turned it into a touching story about growing up. Just goes to show what good storytelling can do. I recommend it.

the story is great, brilliant, actually. it's very... emotional and contemplative. you really come to feel for the characters, and identify with them. the art isn't great, in the usual manga sense, since it's very much like a pencil sketch, but the art still has its own appeal, and the scenes the artist draws are totally apt, and convey the story beautifully. the character designs aren't too shabby, in fact i like a lot of them, though they're a little odd for a couple of characters, but that's the point.
though the premise may seem bizarre, you have to read this for the compelling story.
i would love to read more by this author.

Read it. If you need to remember any part of this comment, it should just be that first sentence.

From start to finish, as well as the light novel omake, this was the most engaging and satisfying manga that I have read in a long time. In only 31 chapters you feel disgusted at Kurosawa's "duty," laugh at Nagaoka's antics, inquire about Kitahara, feel relaxed with Takagawa's presence, cry at the plot twist, and feel totally heart-warmed at the end. There were times when my heart was beating so much that it hurt because of suspense and also because of sadness. No matter how twisted Kurosawa seems, you can't really bring yourself to hate him. He is very human, as well as (most) every other character introduced. A certain unexpected event in this manga had actually happened to me, and seeing Kurosawa deal with it makes me re-think what I should have done (not anything too drastic though, like he did...). There is a LOT of character development and multiple people find themselves in this manga. Once you read the entire thing, you really feel like you know every single character, and its a wonderful feeling. The art leaves a little to be desired, but the plot pacing and occasional anime references really kept me in.

Read it!

Like everyone else is saying don't let the synopsis or title drive you away. At first I was hesitant to read this but after reading some of the comments I went ahead with it. I must say it has one of the satisfying endings that I've come across recently. The art might take a little getting used to but it kind of suits the story and is definitely worth reading.

whoa! i really didn't expect that the perverted facade of this manga would turn out to have a lot more sense than those shitty shoujo manga. GAWD! awesome. after i got my eyes clouded with restrained tears, i found myself smiling at the ending. believe me. and focus more on the psychological genre of the manga. it actually highlights it and not the damn masturbation stuff. I RECOMMEND you read it.

I thought I have become severely perverted when I opened this page. good thing I read the comments. It's worth reading. please get on reading you'll not regret it.

i owe it to the commenters!
good thing i bothered reading. now I have another manga to remember and cherish the lessons i learned.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
WTF?!! i actually deleted my previous comment!! god i have to do this commenting thing alll over again!!

anyways...WTF?!! the ending just came out of nowhere...i was reading and looking forward to the next chapter and then BOOM!! it has ended...i think that it was one of the factors that will not make me give a perfect 10 to this one...but still i think that its a good decision that it became a cliff hanger...fufufufufu..

about the plot...it was short but the plot has lot of good twists and turns...aroud here and there...it actually made me gasp...even though this is not an action or fantasy manga...it still has those moments...

about the characters...Kurosawa...i dont know why but even though he isnt perfect, his twisted and he has a really osick habit...i like him cause he was one of a kind and the development on him was the best!! first he was living in the darkness and then in the end he became i light to others...the other side chracters are also likable like or example Nagaoko...<is it correct??> i like him and all the anime jokes that he brings with him <lolzzz..lelouch pose??>...and also Sugawa...yankee girl...

the story is pretty believable even though the plot up there is weird, dark, psychologically twisted and the title is more that enough to turn a person off...

lolzzz,,,all that said...i think that Onani Master Kurosawa...is one masterpiece that i will never forget...

I was expecting a carefree kind of dark tale about a bout and his deeds, but i wasnt expecting the amazing character development, change of pace, and dark to light in 4 chapters!!! This has to be the oddest and weirdest manga ive read, but yet it is one of the most heartwarming. Yah somehow heartwarming and masturbation arent usually in the same plot, but this managed to to a great job.

Highly recommend this for mainly guys. As for girls, the amount of masturbation that goes on is probably really disturbing. GREAT MANGA!!!

One of the most satisfactory endings

9.5 because the artwork is too sketchy for me.

The ending is so awesome. It's fulfilling and unexpected. You can really see the change from the beginning to the end. Nearly all the characters annoyed me in the beginning but they slowly annoyed me less and less. Finally at the end I wasn't annoyed by anything and I never suspected for the main guy to end up with that girl.

Definately the best series I've come across.

If having doubts, don't you dare to skip this one.

Everything great comes to an end, and this one left a mark that will never fade.
The title, like has been said is really misleading.
Someone with a dark mind can really adapt to the gloomy atmosphere in the beginning. Yet still, the story is fun, touching and full of nice twists.

Blending into the characters is quite easy, yet still the characters are presented well as different kind of individuals. How the author grasps the depth of the reactions and feelings of the characters is just... beautiful.

Best thing? First series ever that actually made surprises.
