Shiraaki Elementary School student Gichigichi is the son of an ethnically Chinese family, who is small in stature and has a crush on Rumi Asaoka, the prettiest girl in school--in short, he's a typical misfit. Constantly pestered and bullied by his classmates--most of whom pester and bully each other as well--Gichigichi's world is a cruel one.

However, Gichigichi just so happens to have an array of supernatural powers, which he uses to fight back! From tacking misbehaving kids down by their shadows to summoning rain to fall (but only on his targets), Gichigichi uses his powers to stand up for what he believes is right--and to get back at his tormentors!

Although devoted fans of artist Suehiro Maruo will recognize in this comedy series a marked shift from the ero-guro manga Maruo is most well-known for (such as Shoujo Tsubaki or "Non-Resistance City" ), Gichigichi-kun retains the cynical worldview that pervades the mangaka's body of work.
