I didn't care much about golf and still don't but it manages to hold my attention with its Slice of Life vibes. Super cozy and comfy to read, with some light sprinkles of sports action.

Vibes-wise, kinda reminds me of Sket Dance (but without the comedy)/Yowamushi Pedal (but without the same intensity). It's not without the technicalities, but it doesn't go as dense as Baby Steps. It just feels super chill like comfy food.

If you enjoy the protagonist and likes his vibes (try 3 chapters), you'll probably enjoy it. He's a positive guy who doesn't put others down while being a hard worker who strives for self-improvement. This type of character usually exists as a mentor character in other series I've found. Just good vibes. He doesn't put down others for their difference in approach and enjoys the grind.

If the above description of the protag ain't appealing enough then you might not have fun reading it. It's a "stick with him for the journey" series (without a grand goal) and enjoy the side characters (who are mostly chill and can have some heartfelt moments).

What I like about it is that it integrates the technicalities seamlessly without bogging down the pacing and the narrative. The close up shots of the climax (golf scenes) are also wonderful and for once made me think that Golf is much more intricate and cooler than what I thought it was.
