But it's too little too late.
This is a very, very, very idealized, bloodless, Disney-fied, very cute and very fluffy take on the Dungeon & Hunters genre. If you're looking for a low-stakes, cozy read that still has the familiar game mechanics then look no further.
MC is an all-loving, violence abhoring, sweet and kind character for a reason. His extreme pacifistic, doormat nature...if you haven't already twigged to why he's that way, is because...
...he's basically God's avatar. This God, called Ark, disappeared and the MC is his reincarnation or something. The important point is that Ark had a symbiotic relationship with the World Tree and when Ark disappeared, shit went bad for the World Tree.
The World Tree needed someone to communicate with its creatures and cleanse its messed up realm. It appointed the MC to the job. Thus, MC's newest job title "God Ark".
And appropriately, the new God is kind and sweet and selfless and wonderful.
Also in Gehenna
Prince Edinscal is an idiot. He's too nice and naive, letting the bad guys go without punishing them. He only exiled them. This means, of course, the bad guys continue being bad and get in the way of the heroes.
Killing the villains would have nicely crippled the bad guy's side.
The only reason the Prince is doing so well now is because of MC's literal deus ex machina actions. Without plot armor that Prince would be dead a thousand times over.
Very annoying character. I hope this Prince grows up.
EDIT: As of season 2 the Prince STILL hasn't learned his lesson.
This reads like religious recruitment propaganda.
