Tons of knowledge and research are required, not to mention quite a bit of ambition, to write a story that tries to be so grounded in actual science. When it succeeds, Dr. Frost is really impressive.

Despite some slight missteps of mentioning stuff that we now (years later) know did not survive the replication crisis in psychology (e.g. the story favorably mentions the Stanford Prison Experiment in season 2, which has been exposed as outright fraud), the story usually does succeed in feeling uncannily realistic.

However, at some point at the end of season 2, it kind of feels like the realism (and the pacing) gets thrown out of the window a bit? There's an antagonist who seems to be heavily inspired by Monster's Johan Liebert, and who seems able to commit crimes with impunity. But we see him commit some of those crimes on-screen, and he does not seem to remotely care about hiding the evidence. In a realistic story, he'd get reported to the police, and imprisoned, within two chapters. Instead, the story wants to treat him like a criminal mastermind, when he's demonstrated nothing of the sort.

I really learned quite a lot about psychology and the human mind from this webtoon, it wasn't one of those super boring ones where the plot goes along super slowly, it was paced quite nicely. The main characters develop and don't just stay the same, like how Dr. Frost slowly changes. (in a good way lol) I really loved reading this webtoon (in fact i reread it like 5 times lololol) and definitely recommend it 1000/10!!!!! XD

i just seem to never get to like non Action/Supernatural manga easily. after Annarasumanara, i read a lot of them and never thought i'd enjoy one again. and i don't seem to do in the future either.
except this one.
i completely accidentally picked this and just started to read out of boredom. without a single positive idea. and then, it was one of the very rare times a story's (short story, novel, manga, anything) very first line got me! it happens so rare for me and when it happens, the story turns out to be my ultimate addiction. Dr. Frost wasn't an exception.

the psychological facts are flawless. i mean it's hard to keep the professional science into a story, with no errors (well done to advisers). and it's harder explaining every single act for the common reader without boring the reader. the writer did it all for me. he definitely is not talkative (trust me, i get bored easily), yet does a great job explaining Frost's every idea.

the male protagonist is unique. from the very start, he makes you think. he doesn't get you like or hate him, he simply gets you interested in him! and as the story goes on, except psychological/psychiatric references, he doesn't talk much and lets out absolutely no emotions, yet makes a very strong character and you find yourself care deeply for him.

so far, the female one (even being sweet and kind) is not a weak girl seeking love or trying to get behind the male protagonist. also not the one who'll cry after hearing a patient's sad life story (in fact, all the female characters stand their own character.) she's got a strong character and is so good in her field i'm so interested to see if she can put her knowledge (high marks and professors' praise) in action and take the work serious.

the pace changes interestingly. it gets very fast when it has to. i'm really glad the writer explains some easy-to-understand psychiatric facts when the story is going fast then explains the more complex parts while giving you some peace. it'd be impossible to understand the scientific explanations in the middle of those EPIC struggles, while it'd be kinda boring to see everything happen and then, to have a psychological speech to understand what's actually going on. you'll feel like a real consultant, as the story goes forward and the two characters try to figure out what the real problem is. and while it's not action, sometimes, it has an action manga's pace!

humor is in it's own place and it gets really comedy sometimes. (for the ones reading the original korean, the funny music of those parts makes it even more comedy)

something that really captivated me was the art. it stands on it's own. it's too beautiful for a Full Color webcomic. very well detailed (probably the most well detailed full color manhwa i've read so far). i don't know how much time the artist spends on this, but i hope it continues. plus i really Love the idea of different background (like an old book's dirty papers) for flashbacks. I Loved it!

what i like the most about this manhwa is that it doesn't give you the feeling like somebody just woke up this morning and decided to write a manga and get some fame! it's pretty obvious that the writer has already made his mind long ago and knows exactly where the story is going (which i'm really curious to know).

well, this is the second non action/supernatural story i liked after a very long time. of curse i highly recommend it^___^ but i suggest you wait for every case's last chapter to come out and then start reading the whole case.

I have been into this exploring human psyche (psychology genre) lately. So this webtoon definitely hit the spot. I have always love when the character shows inner struggle ( Tower of God has plenty ).

This is a good manhwa, straight up. The research is done well and properly (for the most part) and the plot and characters themselves are very much enjoyable.

There are a few controversial concepts in this manhwa that have not been widely accepted, or only done so under various circumstances, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the overall story and presentation is definitely praiseworthy.

If you are interested in psychology and don't mind a rather slow-paced story, this is a title for you.

I got a little impatient and wanted to check out the original site. I discovered that the author has integrated music in to some pages of the series. Once your scroll down to the right place the music starts.
Pity I don't understand Korean, but I tend to read it with English version on top of the Korean so I get all the aspects the author wanted to give.

I've seen this series floating around before but I never really gave it a chance. But I'm really glad that I did now.

I'm entirely engrossed in the series at the moment. I admit - it's not for everyone. But psychology is definitely interesting and it's quite well explained in this webcomic. It's a little scary, reading into the inner psyche and it does make me re-evaluate myself.

And as melon-ramune-freak said, it is very well-explained. An average reader can probably pick this up and have no problems understanding it. However if you're looking for something light, this might not be it.

Edit: As I read more, I realise I probably have a social anxiety disorder, haha!

It's interesting... but just not my kind of story. It really delves into the inner-workings of the human mind, so if there are any psychology majors out there you'll probably really love this. However, to the average manga/manhwa/webcomic reader, the story is just to restricted to be worth following. A good idea, but probably won't hit anywhere outside of a very select audience.
