Gorgeous art

.. but I'm kinda indifferent towards the story. I'm okay with open endings as long as there's a certain amount of satisfactory resolution to conflicts leading to it. But for such a long oneshot (almost 50 pages) this one barely has any meat to it, characters seem detached from their own story, and there's almost no proper development. I guess Hidaka Shouko-sensei's forte has always been longer serialisation rather than oneshots after all, because she's definitely more prone to writing decent character development only when there's enough space allowed for it.

One of the memorable ones

This is an amazing one-shot.
Everything, from their past together, to the conflict keeping them apart, their feelings, the way they express them, the characters themselves...even the only tiny sexy scene we got was good. I love when ukes are decisive and pushy too.
Ryou is a very nice uke. Not feminine, not a cry baby. Sure of his feelings, with a strong personality and, like the manga described so many times, willful. However, Hiroki to me is the highlight. He's so difficult. He can't admit his feelings (perhaps even to himself), is complicated, confused...and he can be a bit cruel too. Yet, he won't keep his mind off of Ryou.
This is a very sad manga. The ending is not only open, but it's completely unresolved. The tags for this manga did warn us, didn't it? "Unresolved Romance". That's exactly what it is.

Ultimately, if you think about it, Hiroki decided not to pursue their romance, from what it seems.

This was just perfectly paced and developed, but I do wish it was longer. Like gwkimmy said, it could've been even better if they were to live under the same roof, but not being able to be together.

Like always I love Hidaka Shoko's art , even context of this story was interesting (i like School Life 😀 ), but..

...why an inconclusive ending , will be ok if main character was decided that it "just for the moment" that was the best choice under those circumstances.... BUT, why on the earth that will be the best choice for the ending of this story >.>;;
so no -.-, , this story really need one more chapter or at least an extra chapter, cuz the ending make you feel like wtf!?

To be honest it's not their best, especially if it is meant to be a one-chapter deal.

I don't mind inconclusive endings but there needs to be at least some hope of closure, otherwise it's unnerving and unsettling and not that well-done to begin with. I also dislike the fact that there's so little characterization, which is usually not the norm with Hidaka Shoko. I understand there's supposed to be some angst revolving around the whole notion of one keeping "their eyes closed" but if we look at Hiroki's poor personality and unclear actions, the message loses all meaning. He's seriously irritating and boring.

The art, of course, is awesome. A straight 10 out of 10. However, as a whole, the story was a total letdown. I hope they give us another chapter in the near future.

if it ends like that then it was kind of anticlimactic. i like angst, but i hate when angsty endings occur because of unresolved misunderstandings. like, c'mon, really? ;/

now, if this had an extra chapter, detailing how the guys have to move into the same apartment after their parents marry and super tension occurs, then all is forgiven and it will all be worth it. SEXUAL TENSION FTW

Bittersweet stupidity

It was really good, just like Hidaka-sensei's stuff usually is with that bittersweet touch to it. But it gets a bit of a lower rating from me because it seriously pissed me off how stupid the main character was. There is no real explanation as to why he acts the way he does. But apart from that it's a story that has you wanting more without giving you too little. A great oneshot!
