Very entertaining read overall

The story was great overall, the characters were really fun, and the art was decent.

The story gradually gets better from the beginning and in my opinion peaks a little bit past the midway point. I found that near the end, the story felt like it was very slightly rushing to an end. Needless to say it could have used several more volumes to give all the love interests a more developed story.

Overall, everything was very enjoyable.

I ddin't expect to enjoy this kind of romantic harem/ slice of life, but surprisingly I did and it was fun. Maybe as a guy I just like seeing how so many girls are chasing Raku (while secretly hoping for the same to happen to me). Well, I think the end is maybe quite obvious for many although I myself were kept guessing until the very end. Anyway, while some of the slice of life stuff were repetitive, it is still lovely to see Raku's relationship slowly grow with everyone in the story, and how decisive he can be at the final moment. I appreciate him as such, and I'm thankful for a complete ending the author give this title.

Good overal

I enjoyed this for the most part, even though it did feel like it was dragging on, mainly in the later chapters. My biggest issue with this was the ending/girl who won.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Can't believe MC chose some violent retard with anger issues, just because she is kinda cute and can be nice sometimes over a literal angel, would have rated it 2 ?ratings/levels? higher if Onodera won, Once i could tell that that worst girl would win, i lost interest really fast and just skimmed through the last 15-ish chapters
.
But overal it's quite good and ejnoyable.

Charming Shounen Glory

Alright I'm exaggerating. You may like it you may not. Sure there were times where I felt where it dragged on but whole manga isn't like that.brought so many great memories and nostalgia.
You'll just like the characters and that you simply may forget every now and then it's a romance. But you'll learn to value the relationships more which makes the romance seem kind of petty or rather the fact that it's a harem.
The good thing I can say about this is that you don't have to worry about the overuse of fan service which can be annoying at times. I was surprised when Shounen Jump accepted a romance series, as one of there mains at the time of it's run. Just have fun with the characters have a good time with the emotional bonding and how much everyone cares about each other. Even though they may recognize each other as competition their not at each others throats or proving who's better than who and get along quite fine. Mostly everybody wants to be friends (I'm excluding the Yakuza)
Something to binge read if you have the time.
Update :
Rereading and I have to say I don't enjoy the manga whenever one of the main heroines little sister shows up. Only chapters that involve her annoy me.

I tried...

I tried to read the manga, I tried to watch the anime, I TRIED, but I just can't. The more I read it, the more angry I get at it for doing EXACTLY what I knew it would do! When I first started reading it I kept thinking please don't go in that direction, please be different, PLEASE I beg you don't make this plot go where I know its going.

I am not surprised I didn't like it because like I said, I went in knowing I probably wouldn't. I had found a few manga I usually wouldn't like that had surprised me and I was hoping this would be one of those that I would find myself surprised to be enjoying, but nope, not this one.

I have to let this one go, but if you are a fan of the typical harem, then I think you would certainly enjoy this manga.

Nisekoi vs Ichigo 100% / An actual comment on Nisekoi
by FormX

Rating: 7.0  / 10.0
Two of the longest romantic comedies from Jump... which to read? A comparison is unavoidable.

If you look at my comment on the Ichigo 100% page, you will see my thoughts on it being the genre defining masterpiece. Let's look at Nisekoi: it's longer, it's more modern, it doesn't sound as lame... looks good.

The premise of Nisekoi is captivating and I can tell you right away the ending is great. Regardless of who you ship, the ending was well written, and in addition it brings a progressive message on romance (not that I fully buy it, but I'm no love expert). The art is polished and suits the genre.

However, Nisekoi falls short. It is soon apparent that the characters and the plot developments are unrealistic and forced. Let me explain why.

Every single character is a genuinely, deep-down-to-the-earth good person, in an idealistic sense: "anything must go through great lengths to be patched up because we must get along as best friends 100% of the time *smiles". And so the manga is filled with a ton of cheesy lines and fluffy resolutions.

Being a rom-com, the author implements comedic tropes and scenarios quite often, even in major plot developments. The result is that the story is often episodic and the predictable developments feel forced and spontaneous. It is hard to take even some of the crucial parts of the manga seriously.

Of course, if you have no problem with both cringe character lines and story lines and aren't looking for an immersive experience, then go for it. It's mostly all comedic fluff and positive feelings between the characters rather than drama. Do bear in mind I can only really say that the beginning, the first 20 chapters or so and the ending, the last 10 chapters, are of good quality. That puts around 200 chapters up in the air so it does drag on.

I have reread Ichigo 100% many times. Just reading Nisekoi once was a chore.

With all its cheesy and unnatural aspects, Nisekoi really is a fake love story.

really enjoyed the start and end of this................buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut -_- that middle though was brutal to read with its fillers, extras and so much unnecessary episodic chapters almost killed it for me. I legit considered stopping I never stop even if its bad but I'm glad i didn't, though if you want to skipping a few chapters wont take away from the main story.

If u truly fell the need to read, then just read the first few chapters until most of the character are introduced and then read the last 10.

Read the Oneshot instead
by satsujinken

Really, do yourself a favor and read the oneshot instead of the serialization. The serialization is just the oneshot with a ton of filler chapters added to it, it starts pretty nice and the art is pretty good, specially the typical exagerated expressions that characters make, those are pretty funny, but then it just gets boring.

Also, this is just my personal thought now, but I just can't like the main heroine. It's not like I dislike her, but why did the author even bother to add so many other characters far more interesting and likable than her in the first place...

Anyway, I give a 4/10 for plot, 1/10 for development and 8/10 for the art. I do not recommend reading this now, most of the high ratings are from a long time ago when the manga was still somewhat fresh and interesting, you can find many other mangas much more interesting than what Nisekoi has become now so just read the Oneshot and leave before it's too late and you get depressed over how bad it turned out.
