cute guys, development from friends to lovers, no miscommunication, and plushies. What more can we ask for?

that was the most FUCKING wholesome and cute and healthy and wholesome manga ever. the communication, the respect, the consent, the matching up of paces, the trying things out, the self improvement and growth, the support, the trust, all of it. just UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
one of the best fluff romance mangas ever. I swear.

What a wholesome ass manga. Every character was mf cute and adorable. No angst. No drama. Good relationship. Everything was great.

This story just ruins all other bl because it sets the bar SO DAMN HIGH!!!!!!!

Oh my god, these two are literally THE example of what I, you, them, everyone would wish in a relationship. There's open communication ✅, mutual understanding ✅, friends to lovers ✅, both are supportive of each other ✅, and the way they express their love to each other through both words and actions in the most endearing and pure way possible, I melted with each chapter I read 😭 These two were literal relationship goals right there.
The story and pacing was also very well done and developed, all characters were portrayed very maturely (yes, even Hisanaga) and there was nothing too dramatic or angsty going on. Overall, it felt like a very realistic story.
The art is also so damn pretty and beautiful! Gosh I am in love with this author's style <33
My only gripe would be that I wanted to see more about Touji and Hisanaga's relationship, truly wish there was a spin-off about them!

y'all this! ah! so much respect, so much trying your best because your lover is pretious to you and a relation are two way so no time for silly misunderstanding; this felt like soul food.
Seriously give it a read ; is light and breezy.
the end brings a little tear to my eye, i really hope people out there really be able to be this happy with one another.

Fluffiest piece of adorable sweetness that I've ever read.

The main couple starts off as peers in a class which then become friends due to a shared pen. Makita isn't shy about what he loves, so it's no wonder he's ready to accepted his feelings despite his preferences for calm and quiet. Bessho is worried about appearances, so he fights his emotions, trying to brush them off.

Either way, their love for each other brings them together, and despite tension from Bessho's friend, they slowly work toward each other overcoming normal hurdles in a first-time gay relationship.

The fact that both tried to train to bottom and the top was decided because Bessho really couldn't handle it was so refreshing. It wasn't a pride thing. It was a physical - Makita liked it, Bessho didn't thing.

The second pairing at the end with the extra chapter was interesting, and I would've loved an entire book about them.

—bc this was so gotdamn SWEET it was like COTTON CANDY

if you love doukyuusei by nakamura asumiko, you're gonna like this. which is a bold take, yes, but i do not say this lightly (◉ ‿ ◉)

the [main] couple is basically a college!au of kusakabe and sajou—from their character designs, to the way they act, even their names (beyan vs bessho—it's a reach but that's where my mind went lol). the difference would be that the blond is the more self-conscious one in this case. similar to doukyuusei, there are themes of insecurity as a result of society's perception of gay couples/homophobia, but unlike doukyuusei, bessho and makita constantly voice their concerns and communicate with each other!! which isn't a fault of doukyuusei, but a refreshing take to see nonetheless, especially in a short manga like this one~!

also, since bessho and makita always communicate, everything from their first kiss to every sexual advancement in their relationship is consensual and incredibly sweet ლ(ಥ‿ಥლ)

in general, this is an absolutely adorable slice of life love between two boys who deeply care for each other. it miiiiiiight seem a little rushed bc it's a single volume manga, but imo the relationship and the story still progress pretty naturally in spite of it. i find the art quite beautiful in its simplicity, and the clean/neat style really emphasizes how straightforward and cute the story is meant to be. if i find any faults it might be that the theme of being insecure over liking cute things wasn't used as much as it could have been, but it wasn't completely misplaced and did pop up every now and then throughout the story.

overall, a heckin 1000000/10 for this fluff fest! very much deserved its nomination and placing in chil-chil's 2020 best comics list (ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣ ω ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣)b

(p.s. i really hope that the secondary couple gets their own spin-off bc that extra chapter got me hype for a potential tiny-loud and quiet-giant couple dynamic and i am all about those lol)
