Description

Art is much more mediocre than the cover, a huge disappointment. The story is, currently, for me 10/10

This review 15/60 chapters

I love it. Was hesitant at first bcz Guideverses are a hit or a miss. I've read the first chapter or so when it was early in the season. The sale(s) has finally prompted me to read it. It is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S. I really thought they were going to make a shallow memory loss thing, as a lot of memory loss stories goes. I didn't want dark or abusive characters and too fluffy of a story loses my interest. The first is too traumatizing or exhausting to read. The second feels like you're just on a very bland excursion. But this piece delivers. It shows the IMPACT of the memory loss on the victim,

How lost he feels

Waking up not knowing anyone from his past (his future self).

Expectations of ppl in his past and who he had been in the past, in comparison to his current self, to be back to his old glorious self, weighing heavily on him.

I can't believe he doesn't remember anyone from his past at all, bcz he is literally living in the present as his past self. Blank slate. You can see his suffering and mental meltdown. Literally he recognized NOBODY in his contacts list (aside from the obvious (his parents))

Albeit, even with all of this, there is huge humor in this. I find myself unable to put it down, with the exception of having to go to bed. Currently I'm at 15/60 available chapters out on Tappytoon.

I cannot say the same for the art, however, so I try my best to tolerate the art so I can get through the story. It doesn't help when the story I'd been reading before this had GREAT art. 😭😭😭. Can't help but compare the downgrade, ya know? But if I hadn't t come from that place then this art is mediocre, in comparison. It ALSO does NOT help that the comics' art looks NOTHING like the cover. It's ahuge disappointment. But like I said the art is , for me "tolerable at best", but the story is so good that it's worth getting through for.

I started reading it based on a friend's recommendation. At first, I felt like the ending would be predictable, but the male lead's character development had a positive impact on the story's direction. As a result, my excitement grew. I'm currently on Chapter 59, and exciting things are happening!

Reading spoilers stopped me from dropping this

Up to chapter 35, I was getting so annoyed at the lack of story progress, the characters's personalities, weak world building, and overly contrived situation.

My rating for the story up to Ch 35 is 4/10.

Then, I read some spoilers before I decided to fully drop this time-waster. I have since decided to keep chugging along for now because the spoilers implied the story would get more interesting and rewarding than my experience so far. The direction of the story and the ending that was "spoiled" for me actually ended up saving the story from being dropped.

Hopefully there will be no regrets.

Update up to Ch 54: I feel like Chapters 30 though 50 could have the sequence randomized and the story still would make as much sense as it currently does. Each chapter is the same non-progress. Frustrating.

I kinda hate how I'm still reading this. Everyone is dumb and there's no growth.

Ch 56, MC has a sudden personality change and I'm just totally over this shitty webtoon. Dropped. Rating is barely a 4/10
