This story was a lot better than I thought it would be. After reading it I found it to be quite humorous and well balanced on it's series tones. It has a nice pace of showing the characters pursuing what they started out to do. I like the characters most of all too, they were pretty well thought out, you know enough of them to see where the story will go, and you believe in their interactions and relationships with each other.

This is a pretty enjoyable series marred by a very lacklustre scanlation. To be honest the english is so bad in Random's releases you'd often be better off looking at the pictures and making up your own.

If you were to compare this managas "Total awsomeness" to the killing power of a nuclear weapon, id have to say that this manga makes the nuke look like a childs play toy. Its one of those managas that will make you go and get a job just so you can pay to have the next chapter translated.

Long story short, there is pretty much no way to understand how epic this manga is other then to read it. (that was your hint to stop reading this and to go read the manage)

I just picked up on reading this manga the other day and I seems to have an enourmous potentiel 😉 well not actually the other day but like a month abo ;> either way, I think if this is done right ... this is might really become something amazing.. character growth, finding you place in the world, standing up for what is right when no one else does.. well to summerize at first I was moved by the art, (reeely goooood) and then the comedy WOOSH, well then the combat scenes and and and, well you can really feel this is gooing somewhere. well if it wasn't good enuf already theres also romance, and in the last few chapters you can really se what depth this is gooing to have. this can become soo epic if the mangaka keeps this up, might become something never seen b4!!

Looks like it will be interesting. I'm grateful to the work scanlators put in to them. I just wish more manga of this genre would get licensed just because it would just be nice to have an actual copy.

It is providing a very interesting ride. Ups and downs, fast and slow, desert road and new york highway. It has it all. But, with each new chapter it gets more intense. In previous terms, it is getting faster and faster. Until neither the story nor I can't stop.
Full of potential. Good comedy, good story, good contrasts and just awesome feeling while reading. And it even contains one of my all-time favorite female characters!! Pure win.
Now, I really need to read more..

Loved Boichi's work in Hotel and Present. Both stories were heart warming and beautifully told. If the plot of this series is anything like the oneshots then this will indeed be a very good read. Can't wait for more!!

Porn with plot + a tad bit of ambition

Well...where to start. Sun-ken Rock is not bad, let's get that over with. However, it could've been much better if Boichi had decided to focus more on plot and character development and less on Porn.

While I understand that Boichi has a big obsession with...tits and the like, it's sad to see that this obsession ruined a big part of Sun-ken Rock. For instance, I actually liked most of the plot even if it was lacking in some areas. I also liked some characters, like Tae-soo, which I thought was pretty badass and deserved much more screen time. Why Boichi didn't discover that his own manga deserved much more thought than it was given, especially in the plot section, is a mystery to me.

What I was most disappointed in was probably:

Tae-soo's outcome. Really? Put him into jail with a death/lifetime sentence? He was the most interesting character with a lot of depth and personality. sigh, deserved so much more. I wouldn't even mind if he was the main character.

Glad for Ken though, he finally got laid with Yumin. Felt like that's what the manga was really about. However, what the hell is wrong with that chick? The ending was not expected at all.

Overall, an ambitious idea (the plot) with, sadly, a poor execution. Giving it an 7 though for Tae-soo.

The manga was funny and different. The plot is different and it kept me wanting more. I really hate rape but I eventually got used to it. It is not as bad as other manga's I have read so it was not a real shock to me. The comedy was really hilarious but gradually it started going downhill

I love shounen plots like this but like most of them it goes downhill for me. I love the plot at the beginning and I even followed the scanlation groups Random Scanlations and XScansX releases but now it not as enjoyable now. Reviewing this manga I had to think outside the box and not be bias. I would have rate this manga a 9 but thinking it over and reading reviews, it can only get a 8/10 at most. The plot is really stupid now when I think it's over because it is unbelievable that someone could be a boss in a gang in a couple of days.

Overall it is a good manga but some people will not like it. I think it would have been different if the weren't as much chapters because now that there are 90+ chapters people will not like to read a manga that has that much chapters when it gets boring at the beginning.
