When I read manga I expect the author not make the readers make them feel too manipulated. This author has good ideas with mafias and other dark themes. It just jumps to acting like a gag manga. Half the times are jokes half the times it's dark at the most inappropriate times.

Just when it shows something dark it adds a gag. Even then the art doesn't blend well with those gags feels way TOO out of place. The fact he wanted to add too much ideas, makes the readers feel disconnected with the work and alienates as, since it's hard to take it seriously with its mixed signals 🙁

Even this manga is Ecchi, Martial Arts, Mature....type. But it look like we're tour in Korean. You guys think like me? because some time it show about how to cook food (some time it make me drool), name of food... better than tour to Korean! If we read this manga it just like we go to Korean too!

i am impressed with vitality of many of the characters. the punch, kick, and everything is so alive. the author know how to impress and drive reader's emotions, but the logic, is somehow, falling apart. i value the logic in manga (and the likes); when the setting is given, the attributes/story elements must follow through.

let me be clearer. this work is trying to imitate reality. the dark one. there is gang war, large company's dirty works, police institution, etc, etc. given that setting, particularly gang war, it is normal for firearm smuggle to happen. yet all gangs member become like 'goody two shoes', abiding law to only buy knives for battling each other. it is ironic. then there is influencing big corp. it is very logical to solve its problem elegantly, meaning, to still kicking ass, literally, but still unreachable even if the act becomes known to public. i just feel it doesn't seems very clever. and last, the legal. "you beat the opponent, you got deed". that is so "wut?"

its been a long time i haven't read this manga. it was just recently i try to catch up, reading more than ten chapters in one sitting. hence the disappointment. that's it.

'korean dream'

This series reflects the 'korean dream' of many Asian guys (like me). I give this a 10 because it touches me so much, especially page 7 on chapter 1 when he jump-kick yelling 'i have a dream.' Really, that's worth a dream!

Read this up to ch. 80, and I have to say that this manga is mediocre at best. It tries to straddle the genres of comedy, drama, and action-adventure, but does none of those particularly well (e.g. transitions between comedic and dramatic story arcs come abruptly, disrupting the flow of the story). The story is also quite aimless in its direction, with the mangaka seemingly making Ken do random, irrelevant things just because that's what he thinks the readers will enjoy. If you're just looking to kill time some random Saturday afternoon, this manga might fit the bill, but why pick this series up when there are so many better series out there such as Gintama, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Rurouni Kenshin?

Style over substance with a slice of porn

I have to agree with some of the reviewers here, as the story is nonexistent and bland. The women are objectified to no end and the first 2 volumes look kinda weird. The art from then on is top-notch but the lack of any meaningful context makes it utterly forgettable, too. Sun-ken Rock may be a bit better than its sibling, such as Tenjou Tenge, but the use of (gang) rape as fan service, the endless video game-esque fights that have no stakes and the baffling decision to turn the leads into amoral murderers as time went on were the final straw and made me drop it and my score. I am also not sure what the manga is about anymore, as the recent chapters looked at were just a string of murders in sequence, intercut with identical-looking women fighting each other in skimpy underwear and flashing their breasts. The 4 axed spin-offs are the last joke in this franchise that has no punchline. Or ending as it is destined to go on forever. Read Until Death Do Us Part (8,5/10) if you want a top-of-the-line action series or Yamikin Ushijima-kun (8,5/10) if you want a series about the mafia that makes sense and doesn´t feel like it was written by a 14-year-old on speed.

What the hell is going on with these chapters? Chapter 5 and 6(And pretty much everything after 5) have no relation whatsoever to each other.

I have no idea whats going on. Its not the manga itself, its whoever's posting it. The storyline is completely out of order and I have no idea where to go after chapter 5.

I tried to keep reading it but I have absolutely no clue of what happened to reach the point that its at by chapter 6. I cant find any sites with this in the correct order, so I'll just have to drop it.

It sucks, cause I like this one.

Edit* Its not the manga. Its the way the chapters have been put in order on every site I visit. I LIKE the manga. Read the whole damn review before judging please.

to be honest, this manga has far too many fanservice scenes. the fight scenes are decent, the story was nice at first but at some point it turned out as a harem kind of manga in which all girls are in heat and all of them want to have sex with the main character. and the h scenes are so realistic, it's bothering me. don't have too much expectations while reading this.

i can't stand rape

i get emotionally entangled when i read something and for that reason i just can't stand rape and prostitution/forced prostitution in fiction. i understand it's all an undeniable fact of life that happens every day in the real world, but one of the main reasons i read manga is to escape from that reality and forget about horrible things like unconsensual sex. i'm just a normal guy, not a major feminist or anything fyi. i'm all for "good guys" going through adversity, but i'd just rather that adversity not include a bunch of unconsensual sex.

i'm not saying such things should be outlawed or anything (i am a strict proponent of freedom of speech) i'm just saying rape is not something i'll ever wanna read about in a fictional sense (fiction means you're not bound by anything other than your imagination, so just because rape is an undeniable occurrence in our world doesn't mean it ever has to be in a fictional world as well). leave something like that to documentaries, etc.

i say all this but in the end there is always an exception to the rule so take it however you want. i simply have not come across that exception yet in any of the manga i've read so far, including sun-ken rock.
