Pleasantly...ambient?

It's like ambient music or something, dunno... Does well enough to unload a 375-chapters-in-one-sitting readthrough of Gantz... which suggests it'd make a decent relaxing read to clear your mind in just about any circumstance.
Art's pleasant, diverse mix without being clearly of any genre, but slightly...incomplete. Use or absence of shading is gratuitously used as a mood-setter, but a bit too often -- sometimes it's just clearly an excuse to publish an almost blank page with just a few lines for character shapes.
...also, it doesn't seem like it'll ever conclude. Can't tell if it's not-quite-axed or just never viewed as a serious project by the mangaka, who apparently pulls in the big dough by writing BL/Yaoi (homoerotic wangst/pron for the outsider girl, virgin, and bluestocking demographics... pretty much to XX what the sparkly-moe-loli-lesbians genre is to XY)...
...that said, this *might* just be a veeeery subtle and quite nicely executed parody of the big buck$ genres, and thus mean it's the author's way of unwinding herself from writing crap to pay the bills. In that case, I guess expect veeeery slow progress, but a fine end product in a decade or so??
