impressed with the art and writing

As with the author's previous works such as Love Mode, this manga series explores different couples (but not stand alone stories, they all know each other in a way).
I am impressed that the author has improved their art so much compared to their debut series Love Mode. I very much enjoy their writing and how they are able to incorporate different couples in just one series where all the couples are linked in a way (because of Yakuza, friendship etc.).

Ito is so cute! I love how expressive, honest, happy he is with others and with Hitomi even though he has that angst past trauma from Tokyo. He makes me laugh with his expressions sometimes. I love his growing friendship with Shizuru (edit: which I have a feeling will grow even more during the HitomixIto story arc).

If you enjoyed the author's Love Mode, then you will also this one but with improved art.
I like that the author took the time to first introduce the three main couples of the story and THEN slowly focused on each couple's stories volume(s) length wise in different arcs.

I really thought we were going to get a normal countryside story focused on different couples but on the contrary, numerous tragic past/past incidents plays a role in the cast's stories.

It's still ongoing but I'm sure in the future the author can wrap up the series nicely and give everyone a happy ending.

My favorite pairings (in order): Shizuru x Shoumei, Ito x Hitomi.

As of writing, (Volume 10) I am looking forward to Ito and Hitomi's arc.

Compelling Story but the translations are a bit of a hot mess.....

This is a really good story of various couples linked through a small country town, and Shimizu sensei is adept at a nice slow burn with a good amount of smut right when you find yourself wanting it...all tastefully done. All the characters and pairings are likeable and interesting, and there's a good mix of sad and tender moments nicely placed throughout. I especially enjoyed the Youmei and Hizuru's story, which was so painful and sweet at the same time, with just the most appropriate and satisfying resolution. Zaizen and Kiriya's story is unfolding at the moment and it wrought with a good level of tension. I want more of Hitomi and Itokawa!

However, because the story is good, it's extremely unfortunate that the translation is so hit or miss. The beginning volumes are fine (done by another scan group), but as you get into it, it's clear the translator has a pretty poor grasp of English, and her group mates are no better at proofreading or QC. Makes one seriously wonder how such a notable BL scan group can (quite frequently) put out such bad quality. Such a pity because even though Shimizu's other works have been licensed, there's no guarantee KF will be getting an official translation any time soon. It's still readable but every missing article, misspelling, lack of possessive S's, and incorrect tenses grates on my nerves and I die a little inside. Please get your grammar together before touching Shimizu sensei's work!!

i hope it's not like love mode

I was interested with the first few chapters but i have the hunch that it will be like Love Mode where the later/ other couples/characters will get more highlights in their character development (it's like the earlier couple/characters were just like a side dish). Well, i'll keep my faith to wait for more volumes.

This manga is very interesting, and it leaves me wanting mooore. The art is amazing and each character's story is great! There's also a tiny bit of fluff, but it's well balanced overall.

If you like Shimizu Yuki's other story, you would love this one too. As with Shimizu Yuki's story, there is more than one main character so there would probabaly be one that you like out of the pairs. The relationship between the pairs are also very different. The stories of the different pairs are what makes up Kachou Fuugetsu with the backdrop of a countryside village. The art is nice and my only complain is that not much of the scans have been translated 🙁
