The angst is delicious! This is the deep, resentful suffering I so deeply crave, inject it straight into my veins!
To be serious though, I've been immensely enjoying this series; I really love the emotional depth, and I adore how the FL is a (justifiably) sad, broken person, but she's not some kicked puppy, she's incredibly bitter and resentful, and isn't easily won over.
Trash MLs who put the FL through hell and back are fairly common in this genre, but I don't usually like how they're handled. The FL will usually try to leave him/temporarily run away and he'll realize he needs her and hunt her down or he'll have a change of heart realizing he loves her and as soon as he starts being even a little nice to her the FL will forgive that human garbage almost immediately because she loves him.
I'm tired of the trash ML making the FL suffer only to get away with nothing more but a slap on the wrist and maybe a timeskip during the running away arc where they tell you he was really sad while the FL wasn't around (boohoo, poor baby), I want to see him properly suffer for all his terrible acts of bastardry, I want to savor it. If evil sisters and bully maids suffer for their sins, then the trash MLs should too.
In this manhwa they really take their time showing the psychological and physical toll living like this has taken on the FL, and how you can't simply wave your hand and make all that damage and the associated pain and anger go away just by being nice, the FL can't just forgive and forget. Both she and the ML have a great deal of unresolved trauma, and this story takes its time unpacking that, which I really appreciate.
