In the urban city of Tokyo, there exists a defiled world full of lecherous fiends. Living amongst them is Akazukin (Red Riding Hood), a little girl with a strange persona and an even stranger desire: to be eaten by Mr. Wolf.
4 Volumes (Complete)

I liked the art at first glance so i went out of my usual genre habit to see how it's like, heres my opinion "It was totally FKED UP!!!"
I guess i can't read a mixture of adult, mature, and seinen at the same time. BUT i gotta admit even though i found out the story was fked up in the first 10 pages i had to read the rest. very addicting you have bein WARNED
I finished it rather quickly... but God, was that both amazing and creepy. A totally new meaning of "child serial killer" is in order. The ending was depressing, not to give any spoiler. The only real plot twist would be the identity of Mr. Wolf, while already portrayed earlier on, Red's own son. It did get a bit confusing at times, but the plot did hold, in a weird sense. The sex was basically all censored, not that it wasn't disturbing enough in the first place, but.... so much at once, a comedy relief cat-boy demon, cannibalism, a woman with four arms, and a vaguely described plot to end the world for the sake of making little Hood a god of isolation.... If I had any free time, i would re-read it all over again. Still, truely amazing. The first Manga I've ever finished in one full sitting.
Damn... this is some strange stuff.. never read anything like it..
good drawings, and thats about it.. no real plot that makes sense, dialogues confusing at times...
But i want to read it and see how it ends...
Can't give it a high rate (don't understand how somebody gave it a 10, there isn't even a plot)
wouldn't give it a 1 though, either...
For those who mensioned illigal child porn- and like the plotless hentai is that much better?...
It's just a sick little horror story^^
In comparison with other mangas it has personality, although it does make you regurgitate.
In high-school we used to read just as twisted stories, it has a symbolic value for the sake of psychological effects. (Also: Michael Jackson said "bad publicity is better then no publicity".)
Criticism: It is unintelligible at times, largely caused by indistinct drawing.
It lies somewhere between "Joe Black" and snuff movies.
If you are a person that is capable of punching a pregnant girl in the stomach and be able to recall it later on in your life and laugh about it, this manga is for you! I don't really mean things so literally, at least i dont think i remember anything like that being in the story. The book contains dark humor and as it is stated in the description, yea its for adults. Id recommend it if you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary but it makes you really think in the end, WOW wtf was this all about!! 😕 TOTALLY A MIND F**k~
Tokyo Akazukin is the best! It's cute, funny, and doesn't lack the occasional fanservice either ^_~*. To everyone who says this is just another harem manga: **** you.
Personally, I thought of this as genuine, genius even; however, the "supernaturality" of the majority of the characters and how the story has evolved into a "team of 'bounty hunters'" didn't have an appeal on me. Probably I stopped reading too early...
I'm not a big fan of guro, but I really enjoy Tamaoki Benkyo's art. The first encounter I had with his work was while reading Blood: The Last Vampire 2001, and I fell in love with his drawings right away. While it's true the story in Akazukin is a little on the bizarre side, I'm also a fan of traditional folk lore. His version of little red riding hood is pretty damn close to the original, albeit some changes here and there. If you're not a big fan of gore, then don't check it out, but even then, if you want to try something interesting then give it a shot. The grotesque scenes in this manga aren't going to make you want to gouge your eyes out like some of the reviews would have you believe.
this is the most disturbing piece of trash......No story lines, no character developments. All of it rides on obscenity
