The time is the late Edo period.
Souta is bought by the Tsubakiya, the grand brothel in Yoshiwara, on the condition that he will not be discovered as a man until the end of the year in order to feed his family.
Ten years later, miraculously, he has made a name for himself throughout Yoshiwara as an immensely beautiful Shirotsubaki Hanakai (courtesan) without even having to land in the water.
However, when Ryushun, a painter of beautiful women, visits Tsubakiya to paint a portrait of a white camellia courtesan, he instantly discovers that she is a man...!

Shirotsubaki, who has given up her true name to live as a woman, and Ryushun, who is obsessed with painting beautiful women, even to the point of abandoning his life.
Will they be able to find "love" in the brothel?
