There's nothing really bad about this, but the problem is that nothing at all stands out, either. Hanamaru Go! Go! committed one of the worst crimes possible for a manga, in my opinion. It bored me. Sometimes there have been series that I hated, but it at least evoked strong feelings from me. This just made me feel completely apathetic.
It's basically your typical shoujo manga story - a basketball-obsessed girl forms a 3-person team with the Miyamoto twins and they learn to get along, win some games and cook up some romance as well. I don't have any problem with standard storylines and stereotypes if the author can execute it in an interesting manner that at least feels fresh, or even inject life into an overused plot with some twists and well-crafted characters. Unfortunately, there's none of that here. The two volumes can be summarized thus: they play basketball, Sakura "learns something" from her encounters, then she has romantic sparks with either twin, and then they play more ball. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I felt like Sakura, Hayato and Tadashi remained as character types rather than really becoming characters with personalities. Sakura's the energetic short girl, Hayato's the rude jerk, and Tadashi's the nice one. They never do anything that depart from this, and there aren't even any traits that set them apart. There is absolutely zero character growth.
In summary? I'd give this a pass. This was a rehash of a million other series out there, with the added downside of leaving you bored to tears.
