Weird ending

The story could have had more potential that goes beyond three chapters. I really liked the characters and the pacing, just the ending was rushed and sudden.

well, it was pretty good. the only thing that stuck out to me, though, was the whole gay-relationship-parent thing.

i mean, i was interested more in haruka's story.. (her mom's) that so sad. v___v a bit melodramatic though. -laugh- but oh well.

a light, pretty cute read i guess. i cam see why people would like it. the couple genuinely loved each other, even though there wasn't much couple airtime in the present. oh well~

Competant and original plot with believable characters totally undone by last-minute narrative sleight-of-hand making the whole story nearly meanginless. What a waste!

Not josei?

I'm new to a majority of the genres of manga... I hadn't heard of josei until around a month ago. However, I'm apparently in the dark about what is considered "josei" if this story isn't, as some of the other comments suggest. The definition on this site is: "Targets women 18-30. Unlike shoujo, the romance is more realistic and less idealized. The storytelling is more explicit and mature."

I don't see how this story is somehow more 'shoujo-like' than realistic. I could envision the whole episode happening just as it was written on my own university campus. No, it doesn't have the "explicit" nature, but trying to fit something explicit into this story would only be gratuitous and would detract from the emotional value (especially at this length). The subject matter (acceptance of non-conventional definitions of family) is fairly mature, and it does seem to me to be less idealized than most shoujo. So I guess I'm confused as to what everyone else is considering josei if this story isn't.

I like the story and the artwork. And even though the subject matter isn't comedic, it isn't heavy. It's treated in a mature manner. It's a great short read, and I recommend it.

I like this manga. The art is good, the story is somewhat unique (about a girl who's been raised by a gay couple), over all it's a really enjoyable read. But I do agree though that this manga needs to be expanded in more chapters for more developments. But to me, this one is quite worth it to be in my bookshelf ^_^

sigh.
At first, I really thought the guy was a super jerk. In the end, it was pretty realistic. And the twist was a good one. :] Read it! It's touching.

Sincere plot, above-average art and wonderful heroine, but not entirely josei.

The plot of this manga is, in my opinion, passable yet unique. It's one of the rare types of stories which involve two homosexuals being of the heroine's assistance. The flow of the story is considerably realistic, except for the twist that would be revealed later in the story.

I like the art. The sketches were astounding despite its simplicity. I like all the characters in this manga. However, what made this manga special in my heart though is my fascination for the heroine. In all of the manga titles that I've read, I hated almost 60% of each of their heroines. But in this manga, the heroine won my heart. I like her views and principles with regards to family. Though, I agree with some reviewers that "Cherish"'s plot does not quite fit in the "josei" category.

On the shoujo side..

The manga feels more like a shoujo than a josei... It was too short and couldn't develop the characters well enough. It focuses too much on all the typical miscommunication in a relationship. It was good, but kinda bland... well better than many shoujos.. but didn't explore the potential it had.

Such a great story, the art is great and the plot is so profound i really wished it was longer but i can see why the story can be cover on so little chapters. Sensei sure knows how to make good stories i cannot wait to read more.

What an awesome love story! Sad in some ways.
It is amazing how jealousy can cause such cruel behaviour, but true love does not die!
