by the end you'll be wishing there were many more volumes to this manga. all the same story elements with just enough of a twist to make it compelling, and I wish it'd been a lot longer so I could be disappointed it had squandered the potential rather than cancelled before having the chance.
The plot started out really well and hooked you right from the start, but as the story went on it became like any other generic fantasy shounen manga out there.
The plot suddenly changed from self-development to “I’m a good guy, watch me do good things” which is in most hero related manga. There are better fantasy manga out there, this is not a must read and you will be missing nothing if you don’t read it.

Man... this was just a good manga after a long time (atleast for me). It was sort of different, despite it having a very generic plotline. I guess it didn't have excessive fanservice, maybe the emotional point of the story appealed to me but it was definitely one of the best reads i've had. Just that....it has ended

If you're tired of your run of the mill isekai/fantasy manga, this is something you should pick up.
Everything in this manga, from characters to world building is done exceptionally well. The characters feel organic to the world, not just some ctrl c ctrl v plot devices that somehow stumbled in to the plot. The drama and banter the characters have with each other comes off as something natural, as most of it be it positive or negative banter, derives from how the characters act/ behave or what they think.
I can tell that this is something special in the making. I would start with the LN, but I can't find any physical copies of it.

this manga is good the plot is good and the characters are well designed exept the slow update with 1 chapter per month i think this is the best fantasy story i read
This is no Isekai, this is an actual fantasy manga. This is about a child of two heroes' hardship to train and get stronger only to get criticized by other people since he's "second rate" for being 2 Heroes' son, even though he works hard only 2 people actually acknowledges his hard work. Neither of his parents ever thought about supporting him until (spoiler) he leaves. Honestly it's sad that his hard work goes unapreciated by no one except the Demon lord and His maid. This is no tragedy but there is drama but from what I heard from the novel readers the story will get better and with the introduction of 2 new characters. Until then, I won't edit this.
The plot is well thought out. Character personalities is developed, and has a lot of potential for development. Also, I love the direction author made with the plot. This is what I want to see. The MC decides to become himself. Also, it's a genuine fantasy world, not isekai, and no status system and shit, which is great. Yeah, but the actions and personalities of each character is great. Also, author also knows how to create dark things, it has a great balance. It feels more real, not just fake shit like "everything and everyone is happy, and everything will go well." No, it is real, people love and hate, people get hurt, and sometimes, things don't just go well.
Not just another fantasy manga (and not an isekai).
MC has deep emotional reaons, 'demon king' is a full-fleshed individual with an intruiging story... Moral ambiguity and complexity. No obvious right or wrong, etc. No OP MC or tiered level system. No numeric scoring system.
