He taught me the happiness of loving myself...
Suzuno and Ryu met in front of a pomegranate tree with vermilion flowers in the hospital courtyard. Suzuno works at the hospital and met Ryu, a high school student receiving rehabilitation there. Had they not met, they would not have hurt each other. However, they probably wouldn't have fallen in love. Suzuno is the eldest daughter in a large family with six younger siblings. While it sounds nice to say they have a large family, this is actually the result of her parents repeatedly reconciling after every big fight. In doing so, the couple seems to have stretched out their love in a twisted way. Proof of this is that her mother eventually became emotionally exhausted and left her husband and seven children behind. From then on, Suzuno became a mother figure to her siblings. Even now, after her siblings have all married, she continues to live a life devoted to others. Although she was told it was time to think about her own happiness, Suzuno, who had known her parents longer than her siblings, could never have imagined the happiness that would come from finding a boyfriend, getting married, and having children. However, her outlook on life changed greatly when she met Ryuu. In charge of Ryuu's rehabilitation, she found comfort in his bright smile and affection, as if she were dealing with her younger brother. One day, she heard Ryuu talk about the emotional distance between him and his family and felt a painful sense of empathy. As the days of rehabilitation passed, her feelings for him, something she shouldn't harbour, kept growing. Their relationship began under the pretext of rehabilitation—the illusion that arises in a certain environment—and there was the age gap between them. She reasoned with herself and tried to suppress these feelings. She knew she had to put a lid on that. "I shouldn't fall in love!"
