The story itself had a lot of potential, but it's very bare bones with its execution. At some points, Dev's desire to find his family is almost questionable by how lackluster or meh he seems to be, but then there's that obligatory reminder to the reader that he still wants to find his family, he's just doing this other thing right now. Things that appear important to the plot as a whole or to the character of Rowell and Dev are brought up in the beginning chapters, but are simply forgotten about not too many chapters later.
The side characters were kind of bland and it was often difficult to tell what they were truly feeling because they'd make a face or say something that suggested one thing, but several chapters later do or say something totally the opposite.
The other characters' relation to Rowell were also barely touched upon or declared in a very offhanded and nonchalant manner. How some of the other characters came to know Rowell weren't mentioned at all, which left me wondering how the hell do they know each other and why is this guy acting like this towards Rowell?? Additionally, the characters seemed to change sides/their opinions on matters at the drop of a hat with no external motivator to cause such a change. The manner these characters suddenly had a change in heart was almost whimsical or turbulent.
The art in regards to the backgrounds and clothing is very well done and beautiful, however the expressions of some of the characters are very unchanging and monotonous, Dev and Rowell in particular. There was a panel where Dev was extremely angry, based on everything going on in the scene and the shouting, but his face looked almost no different from what it usually looked like.
I also still can't quite understand why Dev would be so intent on using Rowell to find his family and nothing more, but then suddenly go into this bout of jealousy at the knowledge that Rowell got flowers from someone, and then pretty much just force himself on him.
Overall, there was a lot more direction the story could have gone in and more character growth that could have happened. The story felt a bit like a webtoons speed run because of how fast they went from meeting to sex to resolving the main issue to happily ever after.
