You Were Smiling(1), Honest Heart(3) and Rehearsal(8) are what touched me the most, although I must say I enjoyed reading all of them. If I have to be critical, I think Falling Down(5) should’ve been laid out more plainly….
Still, I think a manga does its job well when you know what to expect beforehand, yet it moves you nonetheless. I feel like the first story will linger with me for a while and am glad I partook in this emotional journey.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
At first I thought Jill was ordered to kill Oliver and himself and would use the vial to poison them both. However he left and Oliver kills himself. Was it because Jill showing him the vial helped him understand it was part of the Boss’ request or did he kill himself because he loved Jill who he knew would die?
That is why I say it should’ve been laid out more plainly. Still, I think a manga does its job well when you know what to expect beforehand, yet it moves you nonetheless. I feel like the first story will linger with me for a while and am glad I partook in this emotional journey.

CHAPTER 1 was the most heart-breaking one for me, and I got no tears left to cry for the rest, but they were really worth-reading as well.
Every story is a tragedy with people's very last day on Earth. Some of them were expecting their death, others weren't. Yet they had one thing in common: the desire to spend their last minutes dedicated to their beloved one which makes your heart clench tightly. I like how the authors developed the stories from scratch, soft pain and then escalates further.
Again, the first chapter stood out from the rest for me, which was a bittersweet still sticking in my mind...

Everyone who reads this has to be without a doubt a masochist, and somewhat a sadist for inflicting this pain on yourself, because just like OmNom said while some stories are a hit and others a miss, the variety of ways in which this anthology apporachs the subject of death, dying, and coping with both is quite diverse and well thought out--even if some of the stories themselves are a bit weak.

.. for having picked up this anthology when there's literally the word 'death' in its title. Now, not all of its approaches to the theme were a big hit - some stories render quite weird and confusing to me - but there were some legit tear-jerking and heartwarming moments that reduced me to a puddle trembling on the floor. So while it's not perfect, this collection did succeed at evoking some sort of emotions from the audience, and at the end of the day it fulfilled its intended purpose.
