Yukishiro Nanako is a cute, cheerful high school girl with one peculiar trait - instead of verbal communication, she writes senryu (a type of haiku) poems to relay her thoughts. Together with ex-delinquent Busujima Eiji, they are budding freshmen of the school's Literature Club.
Even though Nanako doesn't talk, with the power of senryu, the adorable pair has no problem enjoying their fun school-life through the tune of 5-7-5 syllables.

It's about a girl that can't really speak well thus relying on senryuu (kind of like poem) to communicate to others. Despite being shy and quiet, the fmc is quite bold on her advances to the mc, being pretty open but not outright direct about her feelings to the mc. Now the criticism i have is, why is the author pulling the harem trope to the characters despite the characters not showing any feelings directly to the mc until later they suddenly became kinda open about their love to the mc and adding new (lost) love interests late in the story. Why lean towards the harem meanwhile in the early chapters it's already pretty much established that the mc and fmc love each other? The art is actually very nice and the characters are actually pretty hilarious, especially the prez. Now the manga is partially 4 koma and i see there's quite a few people that don't like it, i personally don't care but if you don't like 4 koma then i suggest you read something else.
TL;DR
A silent quiet girl that writes senryuu (poem-like) to communicate, pretty bold despite her shyness towards the mc. If you don't like 4 koma, i wouldn't really recommend it but if you're ok with that then give it a try because it's pretty hilarious and adorable.

it's a cliche romance nothing crazy just a girl that doesn't talk
normaly it would be 8/10 BUT it's a freaking vertical 4koma... so 5/10
for japanese ppl probably it's perfect but for us it's horrible at least for me
This is the one of series that I know from watching anime before read the manga. After read all chapters, I can say that it's the best not only the art is good, but everytime I'm always happy and smile from the cuteness, romantic, and comedic moments. I love Nanako x Eiji couples very much and they're my number one pairs in all manga.
a lighthearted 4koma with moments of gut-busting laughter. i can't help but make comparisons to gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun, another 4koma i love. i really like the relationship between eiji and nanako. it's slow, but sweet. i also really like the gap between how they look and how they really are. they're not just the ditzy pretty girl and the yankee with a heart of gold; they're pretty well-rounded characters.
