Description

Ordinary civilian Howoo's day turns into a disaster movie when a giant monster ambushes his city. All he hopes for is a quick and painless death, so he's pleasantly surprised when he's whisked out of harm's way by celebrity esper Yool. When the charming esper moves in next door shortly after, Howoo feels like he's living in a romcom. Not only does Yool know Howoo's name, but he also shows an oddly friendly interest in him when he's just one of the many civilians he's saved. And for some reason, Howoo feels a tingling sensation whenever their hands touch...

The art style is really dangerous. You'd think that the story would be cute and funny looking at how they are drawn, but that's completely not the point here.

The MC is pretty naive and easily trusting the ML even in the moments when he's almost sure something is fishy, he still chooses to ignore the red flags.

From the beginning you may see that the ML is sus. An the further you go, the more sus he seems. At first it may be just some slight stalker tendencies, then some obsession but unfortunately it doesn't end there.

What made me drop it?

I was suspecting that the story cannot have a happy ending just by looking at how the secrets and misunderstandings just keep on growing. ML sometimes said a part of the story, but chose to omit the worse part. It became comically suspicious, but nobody said anything. What made me give up was getting to know that the father of the MC is also involved in all the plotting and the spoiler saying the story does not have a good ending. And how can I be surprised, when it really was looking worse and worse for the MC. In the end it was the pure love the MC had for ML that destroyed him.

Overall, I'd recommend it to someone who enjoys intrigues, manipulation and dramatic hopeless romances. Art style is beautiful and characters (ML is the most complex) as well as the whole world and its version of guideverse are pretty well built . It's cute and funny but only on the surface. But for me, that came for shit and giggles it's not it.

The art is beautiful and I love the cliche plot. It's a nice treat whenever we have a green flag top in a work. I love how the esper top is kind and loving to the civilian bottom but is cold to everyone else. It's so funny how everyone else is scared of him and calls him mad dog.
The art is really good, the character designs are nice, the personalities of everyone well established and consistent, both the main MC's and the side characters are enjoyable and funny at many moments.
Overall for a guideverse it's a wholesome relationship where the the top and bottom are not bickering
