The main character, Shoko Kiritani , is a high school girl who is good-looking, good at studying, has a good personality, and is popular at school, but she is actually very interested in rare ingredients and thinks about eating unusual things such as animals from the school's breeding shed, frogs, and snakes. She satisfies her appetite and desire for exploration by involving her high school teacher Shinichi Sakaki and her classmates .
