Description
"Garden" is a collection of Furuya Usamaru's “indie” shorts that were published in Comic Cue, Manga Erotics and GARO respectively. The title is obviously a reference to Hieronymus Bosch’s famous triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights, with the first story being a homage to said painting. The other stories range from absurd comedies to fantasy to horror. It’s a very eclectic mixture, but make no mistake: artistically, Garden might just be Furuya’s most accomplished work after The Music of Marie.

This is an amazing, transgressive work. I was extremely interested through several of the stories and felt as though it brought me into these scenes. Why do I have a feeling I'm going to hear post this read back to me at a trial.
great collection

for any FURUYA Usamaru sensei fan, this is a must read. all the elements of gore, philosophy and absurdism that one expect from his work is here. the art is evocative, and can cause any light heart to squirm but for staunch lover of guro, they are beatiful.so read this as long as you know your limits.

What akari said. I wish I'd seen that comment before reading this. It starts off kind of interesting, but from there nearly all of the stories are somehow about little girls being raped and/or murdered. The one about the alchemists was vaguely interesting, so I kept reading.....that was a huge mistake. This is not art. This should not have ever seen the light of day.

I am so tired of manga artists venting their fantasies of murder and pedophilia and passing it off as high art. At least the really awful kind of ero manga is conscious of its depravity. It's the same material here, but apparently taking that material and adding pretty art and some sort of trite message makes it suddenly not porn?
