If it had gone through the polyamory route. I was rooting for the childhood friend to win.

I really liked the first two volumes for this, but when I saw "Final" on the last volume I realized it was probably going to be a rushed ending. It felt like things were still getting started or at a midpoint before then.

And I was certainly disappointed in the ending. I thought the encounter with the sensei earlier was projecting the direction things were going to go pretty clearly, and I was looking forward to it since it's an uncommon choice, but it misleadingly goes another way.

I think what really bothers me though is that the ending volume essentially ditches and resets the development of one of the main characters. It contradicts her own words for the love she was looking for, which from a reader viewpoint and within her own focused chapters she 'just' said. Her character could have almost been left out of the manga because of this.

I thought everything was great other than that with art and writing. It's definitely a good read with hindsight of that, but my expectations were betrayed enough that hurt my enjoyment of it.
