Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The Gold Saints just keep dying one after another, that's pretty sad. It looks like the battles have no other ways out, just death between the fighters. And at the end, Hades couldn't do anything, except for showing his face, although he is said to be extremely fearsome. Overall, i deem the logic of this manga is not very high, though the drawing is fairly good (everyone is handsome and they all look the same -.-

Better than the original and a great Shounen manga all around.

A very good Shounen manga, I personally didn't read/see the whole original Saint Seiya but I know how it ends and the gist of the story, here as the guys before me said the gold saints actually have depth and some great fights and are far more interesting than the ones in the original, also the art is way better which is to be expected, I also recommend seeing the anime(OVA) which covers around 6-7 volumes of the manga.

Original or prequel

In the original anime it was mostly about the bronce saint fighting to save Athena and the world which was something pretty awesome for me at the time mostly because I saw it when I was 9 or 10 years old, I seeing it right now it's still pretty dam good and it is also the reason I got so hooked up with Saint Seiya, even the last arcs of the hades chapter "sanctuary" and "inferno" were they have to fight Hades and we get to see not only the bronce saints but also all of the gold saints fight although the "Elysium" was disappointing ending, but I would give to the original a 8.5/10.

As for the prequel there is more variety in the fights as well some surprises like the fights of Pisces and Cancer absolutely great and no one who had seen the original would have thought that the weakest saints would have such great predecessors as the art work is better as well as more character development and psychological moments and plot twist. Although I the series hasn't been finished there are some flaws like for example there are quite a lot of things that would be a bit hard to understand if you had not read the original manga or saw the anime. Other things I noticed were that there are no weak female characters which is something I've come to like (then again it might have had to do with the fact that the artist and co-author is a woman) and unlike in the original were not all but many did serve little to no purpose, for example in the original Saori(Athena) even though she tries to stop the world from being destroyed by using her cosmos and at the same time putting herself in danger she is always a damsel in distress waiting for someone to save her and kill the bad guy, even if she did go try to defeat Hades herself she ended up being captured by him in a jar (and I wish I had made that last part up). In the prequel Sasha(Athena) has a more active roll by actually going into battle and fight. Since I haven't finished reading the prequel or seeing the OVAs id have to put a temporary 9/10 rating to the prequel

i like this prequel. it tells me about each gold saint in more details than the original series. where some of the gold saint 'betray' athena. so in actuality the saint didnt fight with full power in the holy war and had to depend on the seiya's bronze saint group. here in the prequel each and every one of the gold saint have few great battle..and quite surprisingly :

Spoiler (highlight to view)
some of the saint actually good enough to defeat gods. of course this doesnt include the main char saint pegasus. which i thought the only one ever to succeed against a god

I'm surprised that this manga has zero comments. It's been around for a while and there are people still translating this... Strange... I'll read this and give a review later.
