Call me crazy, but the people who gave this a low rating are just blind. They cannot see how good this Manhua is, especially with the current chapters.

I know that in the beginning, the MC looks like nothing but a coward and doesn't do much, but you must keep going!

All of them left before getting to the good part. The art is getting beautiful every time.

All I can say is this is a 10/10 masterpiece, and YOU HAVE TO KEEP ON READING!!!

The 1% good thing here is MC´s wife. Theres no harem. Maybe hel bang the sect master to in a nother 400 ch since wife isnt against it..but thy dont have that relationship yet.. Since they both cultivators, ml immortal, they literary banged 3 years straight.. even tho ml is immortal due was basically humped to skin and bones lol. That wife is fkn awesome. a little sad tho since she isnt as talented as the rest of the people there and her cultivation is slow. But im sure ml will wait for her to before ascending to upper realms. hes said it many times that he cares for her the most. Anyway..thats about the only good hing about it. Not even sure why this guy has a system since he always picks the pussy option " stay and hide ur cultivation and cultivate more " And yes you can argue that he does it to guarantee hes victory but i just see him as a pusse :D

the Manhua

The only good thing about it is decent art and great comedy. Comedy is top-tier, especially the way they make fun of cliches and throw shade at protagonists from other series, it had me laughing out loud.

Everything else is pointless. MC is a pathetic miserable coward who runs away from everything. The system bends over backwards to reward him for staying low-profile aka running away, doing nothing and this in-universe decision somehow make sense. Characters don't really question him. There's no interesting choices made.

MC being a former cancer patient gets a second chance at life, you'd think he make something out of it but no he doesn't. He only cultivates alone, that's it.

I understand his motivations that he wanting to live a long life and trying to stay out of trouble, but closed cultivation 99% of time is not it.

The MC joins and becomes an inner disciple of a Sect with his great skills, joins a division that suits his motivations. Human relationships? Nope. Master-Disciple Relationship? Nope. Romance? Nope. Contribution to Sect? Nope. He gets a salary while leeching off of them. There's no give and take relationship, unlike other disciples who do something at least.

MC gets into a competition to get resources and a cave, drops off after getting into Top 3. Yeah it was funny seeing MC get to the top while pissing off the audience acting weak to stay low-profile but him escaping all the time is again not interesting.

Time-skips are also bullshit here. Time-skips are nothing rare in the cultivation worlds but it's used terribly. I don't see the point, he cultivates for getting a longer life, where he does nothing in his life. Remember the competition? He missed it because he was in closed cultivation so what does he do? We get another time-skip for 8 years so he can join it and get resources boo-hoo. It's just another convenience to see him grow stronger.

Onto the sect again, the disciples are getting attacked by fiends, they're increasing their offenses but MC is in closed cultivation whenever it happens. Later the sect is attacked by them, thousands die, disciples get injured. When the MC gets out and learns of it, he is visibly shaken and gets called by Master. She thinks he betrayed the sect and tells him to leave, ending the chapter in a cliffhanger. I finally thought he's going to facing consequences but in the next chapter lol nope. Actually it wasn't really much, he also convinces Master he will stay in the sect, going to cultivate again, gets rewarded by her and the fucking system again.

At the beginning of series, MC escaped from Elder Iron's slave labor. MC ends up meeting him, gets so strong that Iron becomes his Junior. There's no reconciliation between them. MC holes up to cultivate again, Iron passes away in the middle of it. He reminisces how while was slaving the non-cultivators he still gave them a good life, he raised him up even after his parents ran away. In the end that moment still feels pointless because MC did nothing but cultivate.

Fiends make a plan to attack to destroy them once and for all. Time skips again baby. MC gets out find out they're getting attacked, one-shots all of the enemies and back to cultivation.

So yeah it's the same thing over and over again, MC is a coward who does nothing but cultivate, runs away from everything, only gets out to fight whenever bad guys attack which is convenient for him.

Maybe he'll get up and finally get out of that cave after hundreds of chapters (also years) but I don't see that happening anytime soon. There could've been slice of life - unfortunately there isn't any.

I kinda agree with the comments saying that the protagonist mindset is a bit annoying but hear me out. The guy that makes the manhua is a comedy genius, the art is hilarious but it's not for everyone, so my suggestion is: read chapter 154 with no context, if you like that style of comedy, you'll enjoy it, if you think it's too much, then probably not.

There is by design no tension and almost no human relationships. It is like watching someone grind playing Diablo or something. He only ever fights if the fight can be won in under 5 seconds and all fights that happen are like that, not that there are even many fights.

Also, the whole shtick of the series is that he doesn't leave the mountain, ever, and he really doesn't. So very few things of interest occur.

If the art wasn't above average and the minor gags here and there, this would be unreadable.

Time flows really fast yet has little meaning

Its the classic question of, since cultivating just requires time why wouldnt someone just cultivate in a cave for hundreds of years to come out only when theyve become super powerful?

So as it says on the premise, this guy is incredibly patient(?) and is very intent on keeping low till he gains basically peak strength. So years or even decades pass with him just cultivating and he constantly makes the decisions where he can just be lazy.

But the problem is, he has done nothing of what he claims to do, his rate of growth is still within realistic limits just that his techniques make him strong.

He's also very lame. Saying worthless words while not learning a single technique from his so called master and then brings up loyalty and everything. As the other person superman89 pointed out, yeah it really is pretty lazy, low effort writing.
There is scarcely anything interesting.

There are some nice comedic moments as a result of the pretty great art the manhua has but theres little of substance

TLDR: its what it says in the synopsis yet still disappointing, instead of him actually just coming out when he's strong, it shows him slowly gaining power while trying to stay low key and he's still at a rate where other geniuses could realistically keep up with him. His interpersonal relationships are all basically just trash and superficial. The art and the decent comedy carry it greatly.

I started reading this after some singed it's praise. I regret listening to them now.

Nothing happens, nothing but time skips of various time, months, and years, ect ect. He might learn some new techniques or cultivate more but nothing happens. His flippant attitude also got old really fast.

Another pet peeve is the plot device of hiding your power. Lazy writing and an easy out to actually put effort into the story. Convenient system that let's the MC hide his power.

Not a big fan of manhuas in general but this one is bad.
