Description

No chemistry + bad pacing

Hmmm nice art, cute cats, steamy smut!

Butttt something is missing. idk what it is, maybe the chemistry, how easy blondie (uke) fell for mc (Seme) or the plot in general.

Okay I’m 5 chapters in, and I still don't feel ANY chemistry between the main couple. It's just made so the story can move on. The “romance” is so forced and stale that it’s unsettling.

The pacing for this series was kinda weird- like so much focus on negative stuff, misunderstandings, and anxiety in the relationship and not enough happy moments imo!! It would have been better to see them get closer to each other without so much despair at being alone. Not to mention the important moments and conversations were skipped and jumped to the smut and end.

I wonder if the mangaka would've done better spreading this across two volumes but i'm guessing this is all they got 😭💔

I really love how the author portrayed Nogami. Especially juxtaposed against Kume, his life experience and sense of responsibility as an older adult was really pronounced, and their age gap was readily apparent even though I don't remember them actually mentioning Nogami's age.

I do think Kume manipulated Nogami's sense of responsibility, though I don't think he did it intentionally. I think Kume was just young and caught in a confusing undercurrent of emotions that he didn't know how to handle appropriately. And I think Nogami could see that through the lens of his own past experiences and felt a responsibility to help him.

However, I don't think that excuses Kume's behaviors that were definitely far overstepping boundaries in a really inappropriate way.

But I do think the author did a good job of conveying how both characters were feeling; the story felt very human which I liked. And I'm glad for the way they were able to resolve things and grow better together.

While the story was certainly cute, it felt like it was missing some emotions. That's probably because Nogami wears the same face all the time and conveys emotions solely through words.
The relationship between them starts out in a little bit awkward way - and both know that. It's like they're just going with the flow which make both of them seem a little bit dull.
The manga has its weak points, but it was a refreshing read it anyway. Look forward to seeing lots of cats and shy characters.
