A medical student in Hokkaido, Kirigo, finds a young man lying in the snow on his way home from university.

Thinking he was dead, he rushed to him, only to find that he had collapsed because he was hungry, so he had no choice but to take him home.

After a while, the young man woke up, and while feeding him, asked him why he had collapsed. He told him that he had come to Japan from the U.S. to look for a certain place in a photograph, and that he had come to Japan to die when he saw the view at the end of his life.

Unable to leave the death-hungry young man alone, he decides to move in with him...
