Description
At the age of sixteen Ryo Narushima was a genius and looked to have no trouble getting into Tokyo University and joining the elite of society. However, that summer something cracked inside Ryo's head. With a small knife, he brutally murdered both of his parents only leaving his sister alive and cowering in a corner. It is at this grotesque incident that our story begins.

Toto, you speak out my confusion. How did Ryo degenerate so much? His chinese material arts havent benefitted him in any way. Until now i thought i might just have missed some important part on the story but you approve my suspicion. Its a pity because its not logial for Ryo to downgrade in the way it happens to him.
great fights and great plot , the main character is new for me you would always see the good guy type but this main character is one bad motha****er so you either love the manga or just hate it , the only bad thing is :

I thought this was going to be about character growth. Well the character doesn't grow at all. Sure he get's stronger, but basis of his character is still the same. He murdered his parents for wretched reasons and after all these volumes, remains the same degenerate excuse of a human being.
I'm fine with blood and I love mangas like Blade of the Immortal and Threads of Time. This manga is not like those works. There's no real plot. It's just distasteful.

Its a strange story spanning the life of a troubled young man who refuses to lay down and die....no matter what he has to do to survive. I wont lie to you. The lead is anything but a nice guy and to say that you'll love to hate to love him isn't an overstatement. The artwork start out pretty rough and gritty and it doesn't get much cleaner but it does evolve in a way. If you like Vagabond or Threads of Time then you'll most likely enjoy this as well. My thanks to manga Sketchbook for the translation of a series that I doubt will ever be licensed. Its pretty graphic.

I prefer Berserk than this...there's no outlet of comedy in it and plus, I hate the emphasis on insects...Praying Mantis and the like! The attacks are superb but Ryo's role didn't catch my attention! If fighting was to be based on, I prefer Hajime no Ippo's boxing than this...
this ones very good and dark, not for people who easily get affected by blood and violence. but if those don't effect you then this is one of the best you'll get, the art is great, the story like greater, but what really makes this story so good is the main character, his darkness is....

The story has less to it than meets the eye. The main character is supposably brilliant but he acts retarded at most times. And the pace of the story is incredibly slow. The pages are filled with lizards and all kind of things that have no revalence to the actually story. The fighting isn't interesting and in recent chapter with those chi blasts and all its not even realistic anymore.

None of the bullshit attacks you see in Naruto or Bleach here. This is about a real human's... or rather a real devil in human form. Born out of our society.
This is the shit, I'm telling you. Though I usually prefer the fantasy style action mangas... This is more real than anything I've ever read, even though it kinda scares me as well.
Either way, I recommend it !
