The first in the Sayonara Game/Change World/Love Nest series! The pacing is a bit rocky, and the "straight seme" thing isn't addressed well, but the mangaka does a surprisingly good job addressing the psychological underpinnings for the MCs' attraction to each other. I might have rated this slightly lower on its own, but I think it works well as part of a series, especially since the next two volumes in the series are a direct sequel.

(This was the first yaoi manga that made me cry, at the scene below.)

I also liked that there's a straight female character who has her own desires and narrative, who says intelligent things and isn't just blatantly an introductory plot device (as the summary somewhat suggests she could be). There are so many same-sex pairings in this series, it's nice to have at least one that isn't (it really disrupts the "afraid to acknowledge a homosexual relationship" tension when it seems like all the characters are in same-sex pairings).

Didn't have a lot of enthusiasm going into this manga bc it looks like any run-of-the-mil story where there's a huge imbalance of power between the couple, and I'm not a fan of that. Pleasantly surprised to find out that's not the case here at all. The author did a good job portraying genuine and believable emotions without overselling it like some cheap dramatic angst. And the characters are all very likeable and relatable, which is another huge plus. Glad to see improvement from the mangaka in her craft.

It's so damn romantic and cute! I can't fully describe how much this story speaks to me, but in its simplicity it gets a lot of emotions across and even though it's partially a pretty average story with kinda simple characters that I've already seen before, it's sorta unlike stuff I've read before!
