Description

As childhood friends, Haruna Ippei and Takimoto Eiji have always been together. But in their 17th summer, their relationship starts to change... Eiji finally starts to face his own feelings towards Ippei and Ippei has to face the music after getting a girl pregnant...

The Kind and Beautiful You was the best story
I like that kind of stories where the things are not what it seems.
The first 2 stories was ok, but the 3th one was better so far

like others said, the third story is the best. i like the kind of people that goes to extreme violent lengths to get what they want, ala yuno gasai from mirai nikki. it make the captured feel so claustrophobic, its thrilling.
the first and second story is not bad either, there is some depth in characters, and they dont act too stupidly. except the melodrama of the second uke did get on my nerve a little.
the art is quite harsh, the boys look sharp and angular, and you cannot perceive their individuality and personality from the first glance. i like the way the mangaka use the screentone, there are some ingenious tone in the third story that captured the spiraling-out-of-control atmosphere of the mc's life.
thus, a good collection of yaoi stories.

I loved the two last chapters. 10 dollars and the lizard's tail weren't really interesting, but The kind and beautiful you make it so worth the read. I like twisted endings/ stories, so I enjoyed this immensely. The art is nice and the story well written. It deserves some attention.
I don't mind unhappy stories, so that wasn't my hang-up here. I was really confused though. Maybe I am too dumb for this or maybe the translation was a little odd in places(not so much the actual translation/scanlation, but the cultural translation), either way I was left going "wait, what?" quite a bit, especially in the second story. The first and last had less moments where I felt lost. I understood what happened, but there were phrases or terms which left me completely clueless, which I don't normally run in to issues with.
Anyway, overall I enjoyed this. I like a look in to darker relationships of varying levels. These didn't make me feel much of anything though, so my rating falls to just average.

This i found to be an excellent collection of stories, the last story in particular was intensely captivating - such a bitter ending, i wish i knew what happened after that. Excellent art, excellent stories, great characters. The only down side is that you'll probably feel a bit depressed after reading, these are not happy fluffy style stories, they are deeper and harsher but all the more meaningful for it.
The first story was pretty good, and the second was really good. The third was hard to follow, but eventually I made it out to be something very soap operatic, which I didn't particularly like. Overall, I prefer "happy love and sex" to the cruel, hopeless, or other unhappy forms, so that's why I rate this lower than most I read.
I read this a long time ago, and recently read it again. Yeah, the artwork is OK, not as refined as her newer work, like Punch Up, (which I love!) but her story telling is up to par in this one, as usual.

She leads you down a bright and familiar path, one filled with known scenarios, and you think you know where you're going, like in the first two, when suddenly she pulls off the rose-colored glasses and shows you to a place you never saw at all! And she did it so well, you are left dumbfounded and amazed that you didn't see it coming!
I really appreciate an author who can pull that off!
I highly recommend it for those who enjoy dark irony!

But the last...wow. I forgot this was even written by Kano Shiuko, as it was so dark! She leads you down a bright and familiar path, one filled with known scenarios, and you think you know where you're going, like in the first two, when suddenly she pulls off the rose-colored glasses and shows you to a place you never saw at all! And she did it so well, you are left dumbfounded and amazed that you didn't see it coming!
I really appreciate an author who can pull that off!
I highly recommend it for those who enjoy dark irony!

This was the first Uide Shiuko manga I ever read, so I remember it well.
As for the art, if only it have all been like the cover page. It actually took me a second time reading it to get used to the artwork. Even then, I can't really say that that I liked it. But I can be quite fussy.
The first story I really loved. It is like a normal BL story.. prostitution...childhood friend... gets jealous, blah blah, but there is something that I can't describe that just makes it different. I could read it over and over and not get bored.
As for the second story, of the one with the sea cucumbers... That made me cringe. It was hard for me to understand the weird metaphors, and.. ugh. It wasn't good.
The last story was my favourite, though, I have to admit. I know it was dark, and unexpected, and pretty horrible actually, but nonetheless the story was different and it really hooked me in. If it hadn't been a BL story, though, maybe it would've been even better, I can't help but think.

The first two stories were fine but the last one, ugh, it was good in the beginning but in the end, it was bad. I mean, really bad. After finding out that his lover was something completely opposite, he still said he'll be happy and be with him still even when he was scared of him. I find that completely and utter wrong and this is coming from someone who likes dark stories.
So, I give this a six. It was in the middle for me but that last story brought it down.

WOW. Wicked! I love the last oneshot - ch3-4. Heheh it actually changed my entire negative opinion about Kano Shiuko. Definitely recommended.
